Our Thanksgiving Celebration

We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner at our house. Thanks to Curtis and Kirsten. Since I worked all day(floated to Peds-yuck) Curtis got things started at home and Kirsten came over and helped when she got off work. The grandkids looked very cute in their holiday attire. Dinner was yummy after working all day. Curtis and I were out shopping yesterday morning--but not at 3 and 4am when some of the stores were open. Nothing seemed extremely busy when we were out--except Herbergers. I hope to get some decorating started today if I can talk Curtis into getting the tree out.

My kitchen Helper

Both Nicholas and Harlee love to come to Nana's. They also love to be in the kitchen helping. I am not sure how much help they are, but it is fun to have them there. Nicholas just wants to play in the sink mostly, especially now he knows how to turn the faucet on. He is a disaster in the kitchen though-has broken the soap door on my dishwasher, melted the microwave cover into the toaster, just for starters. I am sure he would have done something with the blinds, but I changed the patio doors and they are in between the glass. So, here are photos of Nic and I in the kitchen last Sunday.

We're in the Deep Freeze

It is so cold out--it's 2pm and -10F out. BRrrrrr...... It has gone from one extreme to the other. Still was snowing out this morning. Cait has a snow day out from school today in Seattle. She can hardly believe it. The Seattle area becomes incapacitated with minimal snow.
Here are some pictures from the beauty of the snow. Have to remember that when one is out driving in miserable conditions.

How a week can Change

We are still in a winter weather advisory, although the sun is shining brightly this morning. We are in the deep freeze with plenty of snow. Just thought you might enjoy how quickly things change around here. Both pictures of the mountain ash tree-just last week when leaves were still hanging on and today covered in snow.

Old Man Winter

Old Man Winter has hit with full force. We had a bad snow storm on Tuesday when I was working and then more snow yesterday. And the temperatures are suppposed to go into the basement over the weekend with more snow. I remember it being like this the first winter we moved here to Great Falls. I am off until Monday and hope to just play in my scrap area. Got to spend the evening with the grandkids. And Curtis is on the road and should be back home later this afternoon.
Here are a few photos of the last leaves of fall hanging on

I Heart Faces

I recently found this site and I wanted to share some of my photos. I am just a mum and grandma taking photos. I am not a professional. But I want to learn more about composition and other things. So, I decided to enter this photo of Harlee. The category this week is orange and it must include faces.

November has arrived

with a change in the weather. Yesterday was a very dreary, wet, gray November day. I was dog tired after working lots of hours last week and therefore no posting. Hope to do better this week. Much colder out after the glorious October weather we had. The leaves have almost gone from the trees now, after a rainy day yesterday. Good thing I mulched them up last Friday. Kirsten and the kids were here for dinner and a swim in nana's big tub. Poor Kirsten was drenched after the affair. But the kids loved it. Found out who Nic's speech therapist is and he will NEVER progress with this person. So, speaking about Nic here are a few cute shots of him from our trip in Kalispell
