More France Layouts

Haven't posted in a couple of days, as I have been busy working my 12 hour shifts. And Tuesday turned into more than 12 hours, as we admitted 3 babies after 3pm in the afternoon, making it a little out of control. Getting the work done is one thing, but finishing up the computer charting is another.
I am certainly feeling under the weather today. Last evening I just couldn't get warm and then at 1am woke up sweating hot with a headache. Slept in until after 9am, which is so not me. I have a fever today and just general malaise. Hope it goes away sooner than later.
Anyway, I finished up a couple more layouts for Caitlin's France album. Pretty simple as there are a lot of photos to get on the pages.

This weeks topic is - "A slice of Life. Check out other amazing entries here
My grandkids are a big part of my life these days.

And getting in Nana's big tub is a big deal--with lots of bubbles.
But don't put the jets on.
So, just a slice of my Thursday evenings.

Cait's France Album

Hybrid pages below:

Yes, Cait, I actually got the photos out and did a 2 page layout with a hybrid one inbetween.
Yesterday I also majorly cleaned up my scrap space. I came in the room looking for the cord for my DVD player. I wanted to watch a movie, while I ironed shirts for Curtis. And I couldn't find it, so one thing led to another and it turned into a big reorganize job. But, I did find the cord and the headphones. So, I started with a clean space and I got my ironing done too. And I got to watch Burlesque while I ironed away.

Picture of the Week #12

My picture of this week is of Nicholas. He is watching his sister rebuild the wooden snowman. He knows that all the pieces need to go on, but doesn't quite get it yet. This boy tries ones patience. He pushes your buttons. But you got to love those big greenish eyes and that little towhead. Got knew to give me girls though. They were here last evening and I was talking to Curtis on the phone. He briefly talked to Nic and then in a blink of an eye he disappeared to the kitchen and took 3 chunks out of our new Wii golf club. He knew nana wasn't happy. This is what happens when he thinks he doesn't need to nap anymore at 2-1/2.
After they go, the house is quiet, as I am here alone. But he leaves his mark---Curtis' train alarm starts going off--wake up, wake up with bells ringing. I am so glad it wasn't the middle of the night. He is all BOY and I love him to bits.

Spring Has Sprung??????

For Penny Black challenge here

According to the calendar it has!!! But here in Montana it is a different story. We are still have snow and cold weather mixed in with a tease of spring now and then.
Have been working on some Easter cards, because it will be here sooner than later.
On some days off- enjoyed dinner with friends yesterday. Pulled my stove/oven out yesterday--boy it was gross back there! I guess the spring cleaning bug has hit a little. Purged some scrapping supplies and plan to drive to Helena today to put them in their garage sale this weekend. That's what's up with me these days.

In Search of the Elusive Snow Goose

Earlier in the weekend, Curtis and I had tried to make a run to FreezeOut Lake in search of the snow geese. This is about 45 min. northwest of where we live -towards the Rocky Mountain front. The snow geese stop there during migration to and from the Artic Tundra. I read in the paper the other day the numbers were increasing. They are a long lean flying machine. They are looking for open water and the grain fields. What a site to see hundreds of these birds in the fields eating. I tried to take some photos with my new camera. I am used to a longer telephoto on my P&S. Curtis got some decent shots with his bigger lens. Have included a photo from the internet to show what these birds look like closer up.

Sketchy Thursday Challenge 3/17

This is my take on the sketch.
Bazzill cardstock-inked and distressed
Other papers from scrap pile
Bling
Paperdoll Quickutz font for title
Hero Art Stamps- Fabulous Flourish S5449 & Ledger Cling CG138

For this layout there is almost no patterned paper, which is not normal for me.
Also used 2 different stamps on this layout, which I don't do much either.
But both were fun.

An Evening with The Pioneer Woman-Picture of the Week #11

This is my photo of the week. It represents the bond between my oldest daughter and me. We both share the love for cooking. I always let Kirsten and Caitlin help in the kitchen from a young age and now that is continuing with Harlee and Nic. I am thrilled she is turning into a fantastic cook. Picture taken with my camera, but not by me. Imagine that!

Ree Drummond. Her site is here. It is her blog, cooking site with yummy recipes, gorgeous photos and more. There is a movie coming out from her book Black Heels to Tractor Wheels. This is here love story with Marlboro Man. And she has a children's book coming up in April about Charlie her ranch dog.It was an entertaining talk and wonderful photos and more. She had a book signing after and I now have my cookbook signed. I think Kirsten enjoyed it as much as I did. Great evening out with great company. Thanks everyone.

Season of Lent

Not only is it the season of Lent, at the Barrow household it is the Season of Hot Cross Buns. I so craved one of these last weekend when I was sick. So, yesterday I went to town and baked a batch. Pretty yummy. And I am sure there will be lots more between now and Easter.

Top 'O the Morning to ya!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone! No wonderful layouts or photos to post today, just this wonderful Irish lass. Lots of Irish blood in me. Can you imagine that with me having red hair back in the day? I hope you're wearing the green today and talking some Blarney. Hope to make a trip to Ireland with my sister later this spring.
No big plans for today. Kirsten and the kids will be over later, as it is derby night.
And congratulations to Tim for receiving a $1000 Governor scholarship at school. You deserve it.

Feeling better from the flu on Sat., but my stomach is still being touchy about what I put in it. Usually I drink a lot of tea, but right now it is craving soda pop--which is so totally not me. But there must be something good for it right now.
It is being a windy, cloudy day but well into the 40's right now and the snow is all melted.

Picture of the Week-#10

I didn't get my photo up from last week, but I did take one and just didn't get it posted. Have been down the last 24 hours with the stomach flu. Came home from work at 11am yesterday. Can't remember the last time I actually came home from work being sick. But it has been a doozy. Hopefully I am back on my feet and can move forward.

But isn't this teapot the cat's meow. Part of my birthday present from my good friend, Robyn, It is so me-the tea granny that I am. I love that she filled it with green ribbon--my favourite colour. Thanks so much.

Happy Birthday Celebrations

a little Wii before dinner

flowers from kirsten's family

Today is my birthday. I was off work, so that was great. Quiet day at home, thankfully, as I have suffered the past 2 days with a pounding headache. But Kirsten and Harlee and Nic came over for dinner. Harlee came running in with a bouquet of flowers and Happy Birthday wishes. Curtis put a pot roast in the crock pot that was amazing. The kids ate up at dinner, without much fuss. So, all in all a pretty good day. Back to the grind tomorrow.
