I captured this photo of Nicholas over the weekend and thought it would be a good ad campaign for sunscreen. He with all his pale skin and the bottle of goop. Won't be needing it today though, it is cloudy and rainy.

Summer is Here????

I think summer may have finally arrived. Dug the pool out for the grandkids yesterday, while they were here. They were in the pool from when their dad dropped them off until after lunch. Nicholas crashed when I brought him in for a nap. They sure had fun in the water.

Awesome Clouds

Last night we had awesome clouds in the sky as the sun was setting. Kirsten came over with the kids after work and had dinner with us. Enjoying this great weather this weekend.

Backyard Bunny

The bunny has returned to our backyard. At least it has been there the last two mornings while we had breakfast outside. It is eating too--on the birdseed on the ground, along with the birds. Saw a yellow finch in the bird bath this morning. If only the squirrel would stop trying to demolish my finch seed bags. I have a super soaker to go after him with now.

Fun with Harlee

I got to spend the better part of today with Harlee, while her mum and dad and Nicholas went after a car part in Helena. We spent most of the day outside playing with her kitchen, colouring, digging in the dirt and blowing bubbles. Had to take a short trip to Target to get more bubbles. She is so much fun right now.

Summer Has Arrived

or so the calendar says. But you would never guess it from the weather, lately. It is coolish, rainy and just plain miserable. The rivers are so full, almost overflowing their banks. But summer has arrived. The family finally could be together to celebrate Caitlin's birthday from Sat. I tried out the big cupcake pan--It was a flop as far as I am concerned. But the kids had fun in the backyard. Harlee was digging in the dirt--finding herself worms. Nicholas and Tim had fun rolling down the hill in the backyard. It is just an adventure zone for Nicholas. And right now the grass is halfway up his legs. If it would stop raining and dry out it could get mowed.

Happy Birthday, Caitlin. It's your day, only I have been working for all of it. And now you are gone. Hope you enjoyed your day and we will do some celebrating on Monday. My baby turns 20 today.

Busy Outside Weekend

I have been busy working outside this weekend. Especially since the weather was gorgeous. Needed to get flowers in the garden, since we have been away. So, I got the gardens all turned over and Cait went with me to the garden centre to pick up some pretty flowers. Got quite a few perenials, so hopefully I can plant less flowers each year and just have them come up. The area in the back bottom, where I planted wild flowers has finally taken and out of control this year, since we have been gone. Anyway photos of my pretty flowers. Back to work tomorrow.

Tonight was dinner with my friends from nursing school. Glenda cooked a delicious roast beef dinner. Pouring rain out.

Out for a Stroll

Coming back from Niagara, we took some side roads along the Lake. Along the old worn out Welland canal locks we came upon this little family of geese out for a morning stroll.
