A Wonderfully Quiet Weekend!!!

And i am sure some folks would call it down right boring!
And the temperatures are lower than normal.. And that is alright too. I love it with the temps hanging out around 70F. The heat wave will hit later this week.
But it wasn't totally unproductive- the grass got mowed. I attacked the ironing pile and whittled it down to nothing. The outside plants got watered and the birds got fed.

And i got to spend time in my craft space and create. Always makes me happy.

Another Friday

Another week is almost over, plus half of the year. Crazy! Today would have been my mum's birthday if she was still with us. Thinking about her today.

Today we picked Nic up from a field trip at lunchtime and had him for the afternoon.

Got my bathrooms clean. Put the clean laundry away.

And will share a layout I finished.

Product used: paper from - Heidi Swapp. (Sugar Chic)
Basic Grey (Mistletoe and Pear)
E K Success (Getaway)
Map of Hawaii, vacation airplane and Title all cut on Silhouette

Pretty quiet day at home! Laundry done!

I got to play in my scrap room. Working on our Hawaii album.
Have a couple more layouts done.
But it has been very cloudy and overcast, so I couldn't get any photos.
Maybe tomorrow.

So you get to see my Father's Day card I created.

Family Fun

The last couple of days we have had Curtis' dad and stepmum at our house.  It was a great visit.  Monday evening we had a BBQ at our house with Kirsten, Tim and the kids.  The kids were here most of the afternoon.  The rode bikes, played in the playhouse, threw the Frisbee, shot basketball hoops.  I hope they were worn out when they went home.  They wanted to make smores in grandpa's outdoor fire place.  Kirsten started a fire shortly after we finished dinner.  I kept Cooper inside so he wouldn't be attracted to the fire and all the action.  Yes, they did make a smores for the Nana.
Yesterday we took dad and Sarah out for lunch after I had been at the pool with the kids in the morning.  Great Hawaiin chicken sandwich at the Fifth Street Diner.  The grandkids were here in the afternoon so their mum could go to work.  They got picked up when their dad got off and went home without too much grief.
Today Dad and Sarah took us out for breakfast to Dennys.  Pretty yummy.  Came home and did a bunch of house work.  Changed the bed and washed sheets and towels.  Vacuumed upstairs, wiped down the wood floors and mopped the tile floors.  Then it was time to go to the Employee forums at the hospital.
Home now catching up on my blog and hopefully scrapping a little.
Pictures all taken by Curtis, but on my camera!

Family Visiting

Last night we had Curtis' brother here for dinner and the night.  He was on his way home to the Flathead.
Tomorrow night we look forward to his dad and stepmum spending the night.  Planning dinner with Kirsten and her family too!!!
A kind of quiet day.  Curtis and Kirsten got the lawn mowed yesterday and I got out there with the whipper snipper today.  I got into my day lilies and thinned them out.  Also pulled some other plants out and replanted a couple of the lilies.
It has finally been a beautiful weekend.  Perfect temps- around 70F.
And I got a chance to create a little.  Have basically finished my Disney album, so starting on something new.  Our trip to Hawaii from the Spring of 2012.
This is the beginning page.

Kept it pretty simple as I didn't want to over power the photo.
The palm trees were cut on my Silhouette and then I embossed the leaves.

Crazy, Stupid Day!

Guess where I was???
Work, of coarse!
I went in yesterday morning for half a shift. Got a little concerned when I couldn't badge in. And then the gal i was to share the shift with was already there. Not good!!!!!
I got to come home a little after lunch. Made sandwiches for Curtis and i. Watered some flowers that had been under the eaves and didn't get any of that rain we had. Just sat down on the couch and the phone rang. They needed me back at work. so, in I went.

Glad to be off for the evening with my feet up!

Just a few cool photos from our trip.

Happy Birthday, Caitlin

Today, my baby celebrated her birthday. One reason we went out there last weekend! She got to go out to dinner with a bunch of her friends. I can't believe she is 24. She is a perfectionist. She is tender hearted. She loves animals. She knows how to stand up for herself. I am very proud of her. She has had a rough winter and I am so happy her back is finally feeling better.

It continued raining this morning. Finally late this afternoon the sun decided to show itself! Catching up around the house.

A Visit to the Seattle Aquarium

Monday morning we headed into Seattle from Tacoma to visit the Seattle aquarium.  Harlee really wanted to visit here.  We had taken her and Nic here two years ago.  She remembered it and had to return.  I think she really enjoyed her morning here, as did the auntie and the nana.  I could sit and watch the fish all day.  She got to feel the starfish.  We got to see the otters get fed.  It is a great place to visit.

Yesterday, we left bright and early for the long drive home.  It was driving through rain most of the day.  And lots of trucks on the road.  We had a stop in Spokane to pick up a new radiator for Kirsten's car, which had blown over the weekend.  We arrived home close to 8:30 last evening.  Harlee was a great kid while we were gone and I hope she enjoyed her mini vacation.

Today, it has continued to rain.  Some areas are approaching flood stage, which would be very scary.  And there was 14in. of new snow in the mountains and more predicted for tonight.
Went to the swimming pool with the kids this morning and then hit the grocery store.  The grandkids were here after lunch so their mum could run a couple of errands.

Off to put up my feet and watch the boob tube.  I am tired this evening!

Monday, Monday

It's Monday morning and we are still out on the coast.  The kid and grandkid are still sawing logs.  I think we are off to the aquarium today.  It has been a grey and cloudy weekend here, but thankfully minimal rain where ever we have been,

Yesterday Cait and I did some shopping.  She needed some professional clothes in hopes of getting interviews with some job applications she has turned in.

We met a friend of Curtis' for lunch.  He hasn't seen her since high school.

Then we took Harlee to the beach where she could find some sea treasures.  She even had to put her feet in the water.  BRrrrr.....  We are getting her addicted to the ocean like Cait and I are.

Back to the hotel and Harlee swam forever!!!!!

Fun in Tacoma and Happy Father's Day!

Posting off Curtis computer so I can include some photos of our fun time.  Saturday we headed north to find the American Girl store for Toots.  And, yes, we came out with one.  It is Kit, and looks very similar to H.
Both her mum and auntie had an American girl doll back in the day.  Theirs have both been retired.  Kirsten had the doll with her name and Cait had Molly.
We stopped at Panera Bread for lunch.
Grandpa had a stop at Frys electronics, while the girls cruised around Target.
We came back to the hotel for a swim for Toots.  She was so good on the long ride over here. We needed to let her get rid of a little energy.  And she had the pool to herself.

 Lunch at Frank's Diner

 She surprised her auntie!
