Middle of the Week, Already????

These days just seem to be flying by lately.
After working Friday, NICU picnic Saturday and working again Sunday and Monday afternoon, I was quite delighted not to have to go in this morning.
But I was up early.  Curtis was pushing me out of bed and roasting me to death, so I just got up.
Went walking and then out to mow the back.  So happy Curtis was able to get a new throttle cable and fix ours.  I sure get used to having it self propel along on our hill out back.  Not much work at all then.
We enjoyed a cool, rainy day on Monday, which helped the fire in Glacier National park.  Going to the Sun road is still not open all the way.
Getting a big trip planned with my sister for next year.  I am starting to believe it might really happen.  Feb. and March of 2016.  Better keep working those hours so I can continue to save my $$$.
Need to run to the grocery store and have a pedicure planned for this afternoon.  My feet and legs are looking forward to the pampering!  And I have some new polish for them that Cait gave me for Mother's Day.

I am also altering a Heidi Swapp Memory Keeper into a travel journal for my sister for Christmas.  She doesn't check my blog, so I am safe to mention it here.  Got the memory keeper super cheap at Michaels last week.  A $30 album for $8.  And they had papers and other embellishments super cheap.

The Weekend Has Arrived!

After working a long shift yesterday, I was glad to see it come to an end.  Curtis did a Red Cross blood run, so I needed to pick him up about 10pm last night.  It was a long day for me.  Woke up with a headache, and my allergies are terrible.

Heading down to a park near the river in a bit.  It is the NICU picnic.  Every other year our NICU hold a get together for all our NICU grads.  It 's  great to see our former graduate and see them doing so well.  They always include some kind of celebration for babies that go to heaven too.  Like releasing balloons in honor of them.  So, that is how I will spend my afternoon,

Tomorrow I am headed back to work.  They were short handed and I offered to switch my Tuesday for tomorrow. I couldn't pick up another shift, since I still have a couple of half shifts to put in this week.  But I did offer to switch off a day to cover and it was the best they could get.   It seems like all the oldies step up to the plate to cover short shifts.  They newbies have little dedication to the unit, especially when it is the summer and especially when it is the weekend.

A really quick layout to put together when the paper was already decorated for the photo!

Glorious Rain

We have had rain this morning and it has stayed overcast.  We desperately need the moisture.  It could rain all week and we still couldn't catch up.  But, we will take every drop we get.
As there have been 2 huge forest fires that erupted yesterday.  And they are spreading like crazy, as it is so, so dry!  One is in Glacier National Park and the other southwest of us.
Hopefully it will stay cloudy and keep the temperatures down.  They didn't think we would have moisture today, but Mother Nature fooled the weather forecasters and we are thankful.

Yesterday, Curtis and I took the kids to see this.
It was a pretty good flick and the kids enjoyed it.  The movie theater offers cheaper ticket prices on Tuesday late in the afternoon and so we took advantage of it.

Today was the last day of swimming and they do water safety with the kids.  They get to tip a canoe in the pool  and other fun pool activities.

And today it is Tim's birthday!!!  It is the last celebration of our little immediate family for the year.

A little layout I did of Nic and Harlee having a water fight in my backyard.  Using up some old We R Memory Keepers papers.  The title was cut on my Silhouette and used lots of old Prima flowers too.

Sketchabilities #143 Challenge

This one quickly came around this time.
Here is what I came up with.
Kirsten and the kids in the backyard on the last day of school.

And here is the Sketch from the Sketchabilities site

Papers used were all from the Authentique Lively collection
Prima flowers
Dies from Quickutz, Memory Box and Savy stamps
Stickers from Authentique
Dragonfly is from Pink Paislee
ColourShine used in gold, citron, and primrose
Mr Huey mist in Pony
Butterfly - Prima
Basic Grey brads

Today it was a Monday.  My back was killing me when I got out of bed this morning.  So I went and walked.  Not sure if it helped, and then I got in a hot tub.  Feeling better this evening.  I think it could be from toting Cooper around.
I was at the pool this morning.  Last week of swimming lessons for the grandkids.
Laundry got done.  I even hung it outside.  Vacuuming got done.
I ran out to a couple of places with Kirsten.
And Curtis is out at the fair grounds helping the judges with some of the photo entries.
He had a long drive with Avis to Idaho Falls yesterday.
And it has been a hot one today.  Glad for the AC.

Happy Saturday!

The weekend is here!!!  Not that it much matters around here.
No big plans.  Going to do some creating.
It is going to be cooler (in the 70's) where I love it.  Don't need the AC.  Maybe the ceiling fans.  And just leave the doors and windows open.
We did get a little rain, because the deck was wet this morning.

I worked yesterday afternoon and was pretty busy.  Funny how those babies tend to deliver at the end of our shift and end up messing up the end of your day.

Curtis did a Blood Cross run to Bozeman yesterday.

I wanted to share some photos of my lilies.  They bloomed early this year and are already done.  Watering the grass today.  So dried out.  Looks like the end of August and not the end of July.

And a layout of Nic learning to ride his bike without training wheels.

The papers are from MME and they are old. But I liked the one with the bike and thought it fit right in.
The two strips under the photo came from the ends of some papers.

Mornings at the Pool

The last two weeks my mornings have been at the pool with Kirsten and the kids.  Cooper gets to go too, but he wants nothing to do with the pool or the water.  Guess that is a good thing, because we don't have to worry about him jumping in.

I see a big improvement in Harlee!!!  She is really catching on.  Just this morning she was motoring along doing the back stoke and one of the instructors had to catch up to her she was whizzing along.  Who know with Nick.  But at least he is in the water trying.  It is hard to put all those motions together at the best of times.

I worked all day Tuesday.  And spent yesterday just catching up from being tired.

Went out to cut the grass when I got home and the mower wouldn't start.  Curtis came home and checked it.  Appears the cable to the starter had broken.  He went a couple of places in town and they couldn't help him out, so what is the next best thing.  Order the part on line.  Went over to Kirsten's to borrow theirs.  Boy, is it a work out pushing their mower.  And Curtis just took it back.

And some wonderful cool air has just blown in.  Feels so good.  No rain, but can enjoy the cooler air.

Sketchabilies #142 Challenge

Squeaking this one in just in time!!!
Having a day to myself, while Curtis shuttles to Kalispell for Avis.
But I haven't been just sitting around.  Got my house mostly cleaned.  Floors are vacuumed and mopped.  I even scrubbed down the carpet stairs to the basement.  Not sure what is up with me. Finally showered and can now sit in my space and scrap a little.

Here is what I came up with for Sketchabilities #142
All the 3 grandkids together and actually looking at the camera and happy!!!

Papers I used were from Basic Grey - Lemonade
                                      Echo Park - Sweet Summertime
Simple Stories - 100 days of Summer
                                      Pink Paislee - Nature Sanctuary
The rings were a Memory Box die and a Quickutz die
The summer fun title was a Simple Stories sticker
MME decorative brads
Misting with Color Shine

Here is the sketch.

Celebrating Nic's Birthday

Yesterday, was our garage sale!  It was also Nic's 7th birthday!

Last week, several times he was asking why we were having our garage sale on his birthday?

It seemed that was his mum's day off was the answer.

We had a fair bit of traffic considering it was only Friday, but it was mostly senior citizens and we had mostly kid stuff!!!  But we did sell and got rid of some.

And it was hot!  Well into the 90's.  We have trees that pretty much shade our driveway, thank goodness.

And thanks, to Curtis, who kept the kids in tow.  They showed up at 7:45 and didn't leave until after dinner.

We got him a cake with red and blue, because he will tell you his birthday is July the 4th!!!  And they are his favorite colours.  We ordered pizza to make an easy meal for all of us!

The birthday boy and his brother.

His new bike from nana and papa.

I think he has finally managed to ride without training wheels.

And a layout of the brother standing on his mum!!!

papers used:Echo Park(For the Record 2)

                 October Afternoon (Campfire)

                  Simple Stories( Summer Paradise)

Title letters -MLYB corrugated letters and Websters pages storyteller stickers

Stars are from Fancy Pants and October Afternoon

Stickers from Reminisce and Echo Park

And I am frustrated with the Montana State Fair people.

Who ever is running the Creative Arts division only wants two page layouts.  I am sorry, but one page can cover as much with more than one photo and journaling.  Sure, lots of times mine only have one photo, but many times they have more.  They are back in the dark ages.  I won  a lot last year and I think some people were upset!  So, they won't have my competition this year.

A Bit of a Reprieve

in our weather has been enjoyed over the past 3 days!!!!  Sunday we had a day of much needed rain and the temp only reached 59F and that was very early in the morning.  But the cooler days have been very much appreciated.  I did some baking while Curtis did an Avis run to Kalispell.  Harlee had been bugging me for a sleep over and that happened that night too.

Kirsten and I are getting ready to have a garage sale on Friday.  So, my garage is full of little people clothes and toys and a few other goodies.  But the best thing.  I got out our garage sale aprons and there Kirsten found $100 from our garage sale last year.  It was my money since I already had given her what she earned.  Love those kind of finds.

The big kids started swim lessons on Monday.  Money well spent.  Trying to keep Cooper occupied is another issue.  But we found out in Bozeman he doesn't really like the deep pool.  So there will be no jumping in.

Some amazing sunset photos taken on July 4th down on the Missouri River.  You can see the big bank of storm clouds that brought us the rain and cooler weather.

And lastly a layout.  This is the last page of my Hawaii album.  I finally finished over the winter from our first trip to Hawaii in 2012.
The papers are from a K&Co paper stack.
The hibiscus flowers are a Memory Box die
And the title was cut on my Silhouette.  Also used some colorshine  on the doily.

Celebrating the 4th!

Today we celebrate America's birthday!
Kirsten had the kids all dressed up for the parade.

Getting 3 of them to look at the camera at once is always a challenge! Kirsten got a goodie!

They came herd for lunch if hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken kabobs, pasta salad and lots of yummy goodies.

We had filled the kiddie pool up and Kirsten and Tim had bought a slip and slide!

This was my red, white and blue!

Cooper enjoyed his lunch!

He didn't wait for his swim suit to get wet!

A miracle- they are all getting along in the pool!

Coop lost his soggy diaper

Slipping and sliding!

Hope everyone had enjoyed a wonderful 4th and getting ready for the show
in the sky.

Happy Canada Day!

Today Canada celebrates its birthday!!!  My flag is out flying.  And usually the KAO campground, very near to us, put on a celebration of fireworks, since we are so close to the border.  We shall see if it happens tonight.

And I worked yet another day yesterday.  I haven't put in so many hours in a long, long time.  And this old body feels it!  Curtis did an Avis run to Calgary yesterday while I was working.

I ran down the interstate 90 miles today for a Costco run.  Boy, oh boy, was it smokey out this morning.  Not so much MT fires, but elsewhere.

One little layout of Harlee and the greats.  She loves to go with Curtis and I to visit them.
All products came from Bo Bunny's Timepiece.
