Smokey Sunset

It's been a pretty good Friday.
Kirsten and Nic and I did some shopping at Target--we got Nic new shoes, and some hats and gloves for winter. It's just around the corner although we are having abnormally high temperatures this week. And I am enjoying this beautiful September.
Got my floors all mopped down.
Spent an hour or so watching Harlee and Nic.
Had a nice lunch out with Curtis.
And then we drove to Giant Springs to take some pictures, but it was too hazy from the smoke.
We drove along the river and saw a beaver swimming and saw some deer driving home.

Picture of the Week #38

Today was my day to pick up Harlee from the bus after preschool.
We came back and baked some Halloween cookies.
She did some art work.
And we made this cute mask that was on the back of the cookie box.
She didn't even fuss to much when her dad came to get her.
Got me a turkey today to cook for Canadian Thanksgiving

A Couple of Long Days

at work. Glad they are over and now onto days off. A couple more cards for your viewing pleasure too. Tomorrow I get to pick up Harlee from preschool--makes me happy. And that little muffin asked her mama if she could buy her nana some flowers--how thoughtful and made my day. I love that little granddaughter of mine. And of coarse her brother too.

Adding a little Autumn

to my blog.
With Canadian Thanksgiving just around the corner I made some cards to send last week when I was sick. Just can't sit still and do nothing.
So today, I headed to my favourite place-Walmart. NOT!!!!!!
I came home and did some cleaning and got my Halloween decorations out. Figured I would start a little early this year. At least I am ahead of the game for now.
Tomorrow back to work.

A Preview of What is to Come!

This morning, my friend Robyn, invited us to go out and take photos at their Steam Museum. She needed to get some photos for a class she is taking. So, Curtis and I headed out to their place.
Next Saturday we will also be going out here for the Scott Kelby's PhotoWalk here in Great Falls. Curtis and I participated in this walk last year.
We enjoyed lunch out. And then came home and I gave our vehicle a major clean out. Usually doesn't get done more than once a year.
And it is so hot out--the weather bug is saying 90F. I came in just sweating.
So, here is a preview of what is ahead next weekend.

Photo of the Week #37 - Fall has arrived

although the temperatures are still summer-like. And will be up to 90 tomorrow, they are forcasting.
Went to my cardiologist yesterday, for follow-up since my ablation. Everything is looking good and I can come off my Inderol and just follow my blood pressure. This is awesome, since I have been taking this for the last 20 years.

Have a cold and laryngitis, which I think I picked up from those grandkids. Good thing I am off until next week now.

A photo of some awesome clouds taken on the road back east.

Finished a Project Up

OK, so I am a little behind the times.
But I finished up my Christmas mini album from 2010.
Have had the album done for a while and I actually put the photos in and finished up pages.
So, now I am ready for this year.

Got canceled from work at 5am this morning.
Then work called to say the OB floor needed at 7:15. I am so like a fish out of water on the OB floor. First of all, I had 1 orientation shift over 2 years ago and haven't worked on that floor since and I haven't even worked on their new unit--only to attend deliveries and mind to the baby. Would you want me taking care of you???? I haven't taken care of adult patient in over 35 years. Is this really a safe practice??? and why am I putting my nursing license on the line??? Because the hospital says I will float to the other maternal-child areas. Retirement can't come too quickly. Thankfully, I could come back home at 11AM.

Picture of the Week #36-Signs of Fall

I took these photos on our drive back to Maryland the other day.
I wanted to get out and take a couple of photos at this fruit and vegetable stand my sister stopped at, but there was a huge puddle under my door, so I had to shoot from the car.
On our drive north to Canada we saw no coloured trees, but it was a different story 5 days later on our return. There were trees starting to turn their beautiful red--certainly more prominent in the east.

Picture of the Week#35

Need to play a little catch up here with me being gone for the last 10 days.
This is a picture of my mum's grave site that we visited while we were in London, Ontario.
We did spend a couple of days with her sister while we were home in Canada and it was just like having a visit with my mum. Glad we were able to spend some time with family.

My Poor, Neglected Blog

My blog has taken backseat these last 10 days while I have been galivanting around the country.
Left My sister and the DC area early this morning. Was 30 min late leaving Dulles airport and we somehow made up the time on the light flight to Salt Lake. Got off one plane and right onto the next. Curtis was there to pick me up. And have seen the grandkids since arriving home. Sure pooped out after traveling and being awake far too early this morning.

Just Checking In

Ok, folks,
I know you think I have fallen of the face of the earth. At least the blogging world.
I flew on Wednesday and have been attending a Neonatal Conference in Washington, DC, Experiencing tropical storm Lee and just trying to physically stay on top of everything.
Talk about exhausting.'
Now on the road heading north to "Oh, Canada" my home and native land.
We headed north out of Maryland just after lunch and driving through to beautiful rolling hills of Pennsylvania and now well into New York State- about 50miles south of Buffalo

Labour Day

Thank goodness I felt better today.
They let me stay home from work, on call, because I felt so crappy.
And I was called in around 1:30 for about 3 hours.
Headed out to Washington DC in a couple of days to attend the 11th National Neonatal Nurses Conference and to also have a visit with my sister
Just have to survive working tomorrow and then an early flight out.

Mojo Monday Challenge

I found a new site that has a card challenge and I decided to give it a whirl.
I like this weeks challenge because you could either make a round or square card. I decided to make a round card since I really hadn't done this before and I made a matching envelope too. I must admit it was kind of fun and a challenge for me too.

Product used: Bazzill cardstock
Papers from Creative imaginations-IOD, Graphic 45
Sticker used was Creative Imaginations
Pearls- K&Co

Onto my day. I am pooped. Everyday in the late afternoon, I just run out of steam since my procedure and I just have to quit and take a nap. Not sure what I am going to do when I head back to work.

Kirsten went to the grocery store with me and then we ran out to Michaels. Came home and got Curtis off on the bike to Kalispell. He is spending some time with his dad and sister, which will be great. And some time on his lonesome motorcycle. He hasn't done much riding this summer at all.

Kirsten and Tim and the kids were here for dinner for some yummy chicken fajitas and I made Tim's favorite dessert-banana cream pie.

So, now I am spending a quiet evening on the couch in front of the boob tube.

September Here Already!!!

Can't believe the summer has officially ended with beginning of September today.
And our little princess started preschool today.
Doesn't she look proud???
Her brother was totally heartbroken and wanted to get on the bus with her.
Poor little man. That is how Harlee was last year.
Next year will be his turn.
Look forward to hearing how your first day went, Harlee.
