What a Glorious Day!

Remind me again, what month we are in? We should be buried in snow and still pretty cold.
Oh, no! It is springtime in Montana! Not sure for how long. But we will enjoy it. And get out and take advantage of this abnormal warmth and sunshine. I cleaned the leaves out of a corner of our yard and the window wells. I cut back all the saplings on the trees. And Nic was here and he helped me pick up some pine cones and pine needles. Nic came here so his mum could run some errands. Harlee and Cooper came with Kirsten to pick him up.

We had Cooper outside for awhile. And boy, does this little guy love being outside. He wailed when he had to come back in when it was time to go.

Between the time change, not being able to sleep last night and working outside, I came in and took a much needed nap. No time for creating today! Although I did start a layout in the middle of the night!

Sketchabilities Challenge #134

This afternoon I have been working on the new Sketchabilities challenge.

Here is the sketch
And here is how my turned out.

I used the mini gear Crafters workshop template and Some pumice stone distress ink to start with.
Then added some Color Shine in mint green and primrose
The flourish, the background and the heart in the circle were all cut on the Silhouette
Paper used were from Pink Paislee(Merry and Bright-Bow) and an old Making Memories paper
Titile was cut with Quickutz Zoe font
The hear was misted with Color Shine-Tinsel
Added some Flair.

This morning we watched the grandkids while their folks had eye appointments.
Yesterday we celebrated my birthday.  Kirsten and crew gave me a couple of Pampered Chef items, which I look forward to using.
And Curtis gave me some new dies, which I look forward to using also.  And some much needed adhesive for my ATG gun.  So, disappointed our Joann's stopped selling what I use.
Had phone calls from my sister and Caitlin.  She is wondering where the birthday card is, that she sent on Monday!!!
And tonight we set the clocks ahead an hour and lose an hours sleep.  Will be days trying to get used to this.  But will like it being lighter in the evenings.

SpringTime in Montana?

Even though it is to warm up quite a bit this weekend, it is a long time until we see signs of Spring, here in Montana.  Probably, not until the end of April will the grass start to be green and buds and blossoms appear on the trees.   Even flowers popping through the soil wait until the weather gets much warmer.  So it will be brown here for a while yet, even though the sun may shine brightly.

But I did make a couple of spring cards this week.

This first card is for the challenge on the Impression Obsession blog where you are to Think Spring.  I know this card doesn't have spring colours, but that is what it is like here in Montana.

Lots of Impression Obsession dies used here  the cattails, the shore bird , the dragonflies and the shore grass.
The background bushes were stamped with brown and then offset embossed with gold.  Also the tops of the bullrushes were embossed with gold too.  That is to represent the sun strengthening at this time of year.

This second card, I saw one similar to it on the internet and wanted to make one.  The embossing folder  is old, old, old.  One of he first ones I ever had and haven't used a lot.  The greenery was cut with a Memory box die.  The nest was cut on my Silhouette and the bird is a Quikcutz die.

Card Creations!

Amidst living life this week, I have been creating. I needed to stock up on some basic card bases I can just add a greeting to. Also made some quick an pretty easy Easter cards.

This is how messy my desk was, when I got called into work on Monday afternoon. How rude of them, right? And that meant I didn't get to run errands with Curtis, either

Who loves poppies as much as I do? I had this gorgeous Memory Box stamp
I won last spring that had been naked in my stash! Never been inked!!! But I took care of that this week!

I love this stamp too, by Stampin Up! White embossing powder went on this one.

A gorgeous sun flower die. I misted with a stencil behind it.

And lastly using Washi tape to make an easy peasy card.

Today I went to Employee forums at work. Also visited the Injury office since the gel we use at work has been irritating my eyes and airway. Not sure they can do anything, but I wanted to make sure it was documented.

Hello, March!!!

March has snuck in the door like a lamb.  It was a pretty nice day here yesterday.  I didn't go out to enjoy it, but the sun was shining brightly.
I have been cancelled once again from work today and also yesterday morning and all this sedentary life is getting to me.  My hips were killing me and I got out there and walked this morning.  A little brisk, but tolerable.  Tomorrow they are predicting below zero temps, so I needed to go today.
Basketball and Girl Scouts are off tonight.  So, we have a free night of not chauffeuring the granddaughter around!!!
Made a couple of cards on Saturday, which I will share with you.
I won this beautiful Luminous Poppy stamp from Memory Box last spring and I believed I had not used it.  So, it got inked up this weekend.  Used glittery black embossing powder for them.  Poppies are a favourite of mine.

Linking these up with the Simon Says Stamp Wed. challenge, where anything goes this week.
