I have been lucky enough to be out of town for a couple of days with Curtis and three others from the Great Falls camera club. We headed up to East Glacier on Wed. afternoon. We had a nice drive over and got to stay in a cute little cabin. The spiral staircase to the loft was a challenge for some.
Yesterday morning, we were up early and on the road before sunrise. We caught the first rays of sun coming onto Two Medicine lake. Then it was a little hike into Running Eagle Falls. Back on road to St, Mary's for some delicious French toast for breakfast. We headed to the Cdn border as one of the crew almost always sees baby owls in this old barn--but it wouldn't be the case for us. But we did see quite a few osprey nests. Fields were filled with wild flowers. We continued the drive over to Many Glacier and managed to catch a glimpse of a grizzly bear. We had seen a little black bear cub earlier. Never say die for the camera club crew--we headed up towards Logan Pass. It was a long day and we got back to East Glacier a little after 8pm. Just in time to catch a little dinner at The Whistle Stop.
This morning we were out again trying to catch the good light of sunrise. We had some breakfast and and checked out the beautiful lodge at East Glacier. Then it was back on the road and headed toward Great Falls.
I took oodles of photos, which I will be sharing with you over the next few days, I am sure!
