It was a gorgeous day to drive up through the mountains and we saw a few bald eagles along the way. And Harlee loves to see all the horses too.
We live about an hour from the foothills.
You always see trains as you travel through the mountains.
The river water from the mountains was a beautiful colour
Harlee was pretty excited when we came back from dinner on Friday evening to see deer in the great grandparents yard. They were there the next morning too!
She ate all her breakfast at IHOP and some of nana's bacon too.
It was rainy and foggy on our drive back home through the mountains. As we reached East Glacier this is what greeted us. A beautiful rainbow. We made a pit stop here and just about got blown away. The wind was rocking the car back and forth. The wind has been known to blow train cars off the track in this area of the Rocky Mountain front!!!
Some horses on a hill
We say good bye to the mountains and say hello to the plains. You can see why it is known as Big Sky Country.
They had a record high of 71F here in Great Falls yesterday. Can you believe this is our March weather? I cannot. I hope we don't pay for it later in the spring.
And after I arranged to have yesterday off, work called yesterday morning looking for me. They could use me as they were admitting very tiny twins. Talk about Murphy's law!!!!
Maybe that means I will actually work on Wednesday. One can hope!!!
PS. Saw our first robins yesterday morning. Had just been talking about this to Sarah, saying I thought I heard them last week. We got out of the car and there was a whole family in her yard, along with 2 flickers!!

WHEN DID HARLEE GET SO GROWN-UP?!
Sounds like a wonderful road trip :)
I am sure Harlee was excited to go along as well :)
Great photos, I remember our trip to Montana and the views were gorgeous.
Hope to visit again one day :)
So Beautiful...I love the photos of snow capped mountains!
I always sigh when you post your gorgeous photos, Leslee! That really is the most spectacular country. And boy did you have big sweeping weather changes, although that's common for spring - just not this warm! We had 81 here on Saturday, which is also unusual. I just pray that doesn't mean we are going to be in for a brutally hot summer. I don't do brutally hot any more at my age!
Harlee's photos were awesome, too! I really got a kick out of her Pipi Longstocking stockings!! Hugs, Darnell
looks like a fab trip, love all the pictures so much. thanks for sharing !! :) :) :)
