Survived South Dakota

We started our day with breakfast at Wall Drug. It was a day for another detour as we drove through some of Bad Lands National Park. Such cool land formations--no wonder the Indians, fur trappers and explorers called it the badlands though.
It was forever driving though South Dakota and a time for napping for me, since I didn't sleep real well last night. The cabins were cute but the AC/heater kept coming on far too frequently, the wind was just howling and the sun came up way too early(0430)-since we were on the far end of the time zone. Enjoyed the rolling hills and lots of farmland of Iowa. Have seen the Missouri river several times today--a much bigger river over here. They like Wind farms here in Iowa too. Good weather day until we got about 30 minutes out of Des Moines, where we are spending our night.

On the Road Again

Only this time driving in the opposite direction. On the long drive back to London, Ont to pick up some of my mum's treasures. Curtis, and I headed out yesterday morning and headed down to Billings and then across the northern section of wyoming. Gloomy, dreary and rainy day for the most part, which made everything look very green. Then we hit the South Dakota border and the skies started to clear. We made a short detour to Mt Rushmore-very windy and cool out there. And stopped at Wall, South Dakota for the night. Staying in these cute little cabins all done up with furnishing from Cabellas.

TGIF

Seemed to have weathered another week. Just have to work my 2 weekend shifts and then Curtis and I are on the road again. Headed back to London, Ontario to pick up some things that belonged to my mum. Will be 3 1/2 days on the road and then staying with a good friend while we are there. Lauree and Paul are also going to be there, so it will be great to spend some time with them. Cait has been busy job hunting and actually had a couple of interviews.

Trip to Tacoma

Wed am Curtis and I were off to the coast to pick up Caitlin and bring her home for the summer. She had an exam on Wed and 2 papers due, so she hadn't started to pack anything when we got there. I was sick the whole trip with this pesky cold. We all went out to dinner to Red Robin and then headed to our hotel. Thursday, we had the day to ourselves to go shopping while Cait packed up and then we headed to our friends--The Olives, as they are storing some items for Cait over the summer. We stopped at Olive Garden for another delicious dinner and dropped Cait at school. Thursday am we packed up and got her checked out of her dormand went for a late breakfast at IHOP. A couple of stops at 2 scrapbook stores and then we headed down the road to Post Falls, ID where we spent the night. We continued our adventure today and arrived home around 4pm. Kirsten and the kids were over to see Auntie Nick Nack. And then to the grocery store, made some dinner and will soon be headed for shut eye, as I head back to work tomorrow. Just a few photos of the gorgeous flowers on Cait's campus.

Great Cricut Giveaway

If anyone watching my blog wants a great Cricut giveaway, there is one here http://www.obsessedwithscrapbooking.com/.

It was a terrible weekend at work, which I don't tend to repeat. Seriously considering quitting work and moving on. This is a young persons job.

Off today, with a sore throat and ear ache. Had planned to have a scrapping class with friends today and that won't be happening as I don't want to share with them.

Great blossoms in the backyard right now

Have spent yesterday and this morning in Helena. I gave Curtis a photography workshop for his birthday and it was this weekend. Robyn went along too. I hope he has picked up a few tips to pass along. I came back this morning to catch up on a few things before I head back to work tomorrow. I spent every day, except Thursday, there last week. These are a few more layouts I completed last weekend.
