A Little Snow Angel

Friday, when we were up in the Flathead, Harlee wanted to go out and make snow angels in the snow. rather than go shopping at her favourite store- Target! So, the nana stayed with her and took some photos. Had to message the shoppers to buy her another pair of gloves, since hers were sopping went.
Have had a stomach bug the last couple of days. Curtis and Cait headed out yesterday to see, "The Hobbit".
Today, Cait and I headed out to Bath and Beaty store, as it is their semi-annual sale and I had a coupon, I wanted to use. We also found her a blender and toaster on sale. Just have to find her a new cell phone before she heads back.

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Dec. 27 Curtis and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary. We didn't do anything special. We had kind of celebrated when we were together a few weeks ago in Monterey, CA.

We drove up to Kalispell in the Flathead Valley to visit Curtis' dad and step mum. We took Cait and Harlee with us. Thankfully it was good roads all the way. And that was through the mountains!

Boxing Day

Boxing Day is the day after Christmas, celebrated in Canada. I remember as a kid always going out for the boxing day sales.
But no after Christmas shopping this year as I was scheduled to work.
I sent Caitlin off to get some Christmas crackers for next year while they were half off!
Pictures are of Cait and Harlee building a gingerbread house.

It's Christmas!!!

I know I have some catching up to do on my blog.  Between it being Christmas, working and then a quick trip up to the Flathead to visit family it has been a bit overwhelming.  But I have taken photos and will just back track a little.
We had a lovely Christmas with the family.  Kirsten and crew came over in the morning to open presents and eat breakfast.  Yummy eggs, hash browns, bacon, great grandma's sweet rolls.  Kirsten left for a while and came back for prime rib dinner.  They brought Tim's brother, Ronnie, who had flown in Christmas eve, from the east coast to surprise some of his family.

Christmas Eve!!

It's Christmas Eve.  It's snowing, so we will have a white Christmas this year.
I was out early to finish up a few things.  Got to the grocery store by a little after 8am, before it turns into a mad house this afternoon.  I am sure the roads will get slippery this afternoon, as it has been snowing all day.
I worked all day yesterday.  We picked up Harlee, so she could have a sleep over and she has just stayed here as her mum and brother will be over later for dinner.  Her dad is working for a while this evening.  Cait is reclined on the couch sleeping.  Her favourite thing to do when home visiting.  Catching up on some ZZzzzzz's.

Very Excited

We are all very excited that this girl  is coming home from the west coast for the holidays!!!
Her plane is currently delayed.  Seems I went through this with Curtis last week.  They just like keeping me up way past my bedtime.  At least, I haven't worked today!!!!
Have been keeping myself busy today.  Baked some of these today.  The top ones are Tim's favourites and Nic says they are his too!!!  The bottom ones are for a co-worker.  I think she thought I was kidding when I said I would bake her some shortbread the other day!!!  She will be surprised!

Went to lunch with friends.  Opened up some bank accounts for the grandkids, that I knew I would need Curtis for .  And yes, I did.  We picked up some bird seed.  The deep freeze is turning on and it will be COLD over Christmas.  And we may even get some snow.  Will be happy when all my little family is together.  The grandkids will be here to harass their auntie tomorrow.  It is the most wonderful time of the year!

A Visit with Santa

Today I picked up H from school and met her mum and brother at the mall. It was time to have a visit with Santa.
It was a great timing. No real line. Just a couple of little ones ahead of us.
Here are the kids waiting in line!!!

School is finished today for Christmas break. So we have to keep these kiddos entertained until Christmas! Their auntie flies in tomorrow. They shall spend the day here Saturday while their folks work. Christmas time is so magical with these two little ones around.

Her First Christmas Program

Today we headed to Harlee's school as it was their Christmas program. I guess she was upset this morning when they had dress rehearsal-she thought we had all missed it. You could see her searching the gym when they all came in, searching for her family. And then she found us and her little face was beaming!!! And then her daddy showed up and all was perfect. She sang her little heart out!!! They are so cute and adorable when they are in Kindergarten. Bravo, Harlee!! We are very proud of you.

New DishWasher

Before Curtis came home from CA I had a new dishwasher installed.  He has  been complaining for the last year about the one we had.  I tried to get one after Thanksgiving last year and got totally pissed off at the sales person at Sears, and it has taken me a year to go back!!!!!  But I did and we have a new one.  Nic dismantled the soap door on the old one and no one could get it back together, so when he got interested in the new one I told him not to touch the buttons or the soap door.  He wasn't very happy with me.  Anyway I took a photo of him checking the new one out.

Today, I am thankful to not be working in the NICU.  Although I could have practically worked almost everyday.  People have been asking me to work shifts left and right.  Never mind, I had my own shifts scheduled.  I guess I should be making hay while the sun shines.  But, I am tired.
So, I was at home and baked my short bread cookies.  Two batches of regular and one with pecans.  Tomorrow I should do a batch with dried cranberries that are so yummy.
Kirsten and I went to Target to find Harlee a pair of dress shoes for her Christmas program tomorrow.  Should be cute.  We will be there early to get good seats.   And the camera battery will be all charged and ready to go.  Then we plan to take the kids to see Santa at the mall.  Santa already visited Nic at preschool and he told him he wanted a stop sign for Christmas!!!  What the heck!.

The above ones are small Ritz peanut butter crackers with candy melt and decorated.

December Memory Book

It's been a bit since I have mentioned anything about my December memory book. I have been working on some foundation pages and thought I should have an updated post. .

I am so sorry the weekend is over. I am headed back to work tomorrow for one more shift and then quite a few days off.
Curtis and ran around for a few last minute gifts to pack that need to be sent up to the Flathead. Then I came home and made a couple more yummies.
