More Playtime at the Park

Kirsten is off work this week. The weather is beautiful and warm, although very windy. We decided to take the kids to the park to play. Nic loved the playground equipment and was just running in circles.

On the Back of 2 Wheels

Ok, so Curtis is back from the north rim of the Grand Canyon. The weather is exceptionally nice right now. I am off. It is time to get on the back of the bike and take my once a year ride with Curtis. I packed up a picnic lunch and away we went. Headed south out of town along the frontage road beside the Missouri river. Trees are starting to turn, but are definitely not at peak. Hope there will be more colour when I head to Helena in about 10 days to scrap. Got a few nice photos along the way.

Autumn has Arrived

My favourite time of the year is officially here. It is a wonderful September day out. Harlee had a sleepover at Nana's last night--with the new Tinkerbell movie and popcorn. I fixed her waffles for breakfast. Then it was so nice out I thought we should go to the park and let her play. She had a grand time and there was another little boy playing there. It is a difficult task for a nana to get photos of a 3 year old running all over the play yard. But I did manage to get a few cute ones. Then we had to come home and have a tea party for lunch. Harlee picked the dandelions in the field at the play yard so we could have flowers for our tea party. And she tells me, "Don't forget the cookies and the blueberries" She is so much fun right now. Anyway, she is worn out and napping.

Peaches in the Jars

Yesterday I canned peaches, while Curtis packed the bike and trailer for his trip to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. They look pretty nice in the jars now. Have a few left over that need to ripen and will make some peach conserve with them. Haven't blogged since coming back from Tacoma and Seattle. Have been trying to work. Made some raspberry jam. Took a trip to Bozeman to get a new table and chairs(that were desperately needed. We had our first snowfall yesterday, yes, SNOW. The trees are starting to turn beautiful colours. Cait is settling in at school, even though she is sick.

Back home in Montana

Spent the day on the road driving back from SLC. Arrived back around 4:30pm. Have seen the grandkids. Picked up the mail. Will be good to sleep in my own bed tonight.
Breaks my heart to see all the dead pine trees from the pine beetles, between Butte and Wolf Creek. So sad.

Antelope Island State Park

We have spent the last couple of days in the Salt Lake city area. The weather has been beautiful with highs in the 70's and sunny skies. Had a rough morning, but felt better by the time curtis returned from his meetings. He took me into Salt Lake to Paper Creations and then we decided to go out to Antelope Island State Park, since it was so gorgeous out. This is an island out in the Salt Lake, that you take a cause way out to reach. Lots of shore birds at the waters edge. You could hear the meadowlarks singing. We saw one antelope hiding in the grasses. Several bison live on this island. We were out there and watched the sun go down. A lovely evening. Headed back home in the morning.
