Picture of the Week #22

My picture this week is of a happy baby. He is now 6 weeks old and Kirsten tells me he weighed 13 pounds today and 23 3/8in. long. No wonder he is heavy when you are holding him.

It has rained all day again. Everything is so green. I got Curtis' sister and her husband sent off today back on the road. Visited my dermatologist. I got to pick H. up this afternoon. And just as I was pulling up to the house, so did Curtis from his TDY two week trip to Idaho. Glad to have him home.

Rain, Rain and more Rain.

It started raining yesterday afternoon and I don't think it has stopped.  I know we need the moisture, but my grass it getting out of control!!!
And the rain stayed away long enough for Harlee to get a field trip into Giant Springs yesterday.  They got to feed the fish and saw some Great Horned Owls.
Curtis' sister and husband arrived yesterday for a couple of days.  So everyone was here for dinner last night.
Today, was my day with Cooper.  But Kirsten called that Nic was misbehaving at preschool and could I take him too.  So, it was the two boys and me.
Yesterday, I also had my check up from having my surgery and all is going well, just a couple more weeks of taking it easy.  I sure feel it at the end of the day, and am just pooped out.
Not looking forward to heading back and having to work those 12 hour shifts.
Tomorrow Curtis heads home after being in Idaho for the last 2 weeks and missing his sister's visit.
I will leave you with one more card and one more layout.

Busy Tuesday!

It has been a busy day!!  And with it being after a holiday, my week will be all screwed up!!
My buddy Cooper came to spend the morning with me.

We had a couple of trees cut down in our backyard.  They just needed to go.  Plus our other trees got trimmed up too.  So much more light in the backyard now!  Curtis gets to build a playset for the grandmunchkins now.

H. had a kindergarten spring program this afternoon.  Cooper had to have a big blow out before we went and therefore had a bath in nana's sink.  He just doesn't fit in there.

But after eating, pooping and having a bath he was all set and slept through the whole program.  The program was adorable.  Their theme was all about families.  Harlee had a speaking part at the beginning to start the whole thing off.
She was dressed so pretty, but managed to get a hole in her brand  new tights.  Told Kirsten we are going to have to start up a tight fund for her!  She made a special hat and came in looking for her mum and nana.

Happy Memorial Day!

Thanks to all those men and women who have served and are serving to make this country safe for us.  Even for us foreigners!

Made a few more cards yesterday.

The day has been overcast and rainy.  But, I have been busy inside.  I changed the sheets and got them all washed up.  Also did my laundry.  And vacuumed through.  Should be dusting, but I just don't feel like it.

Card Making

Today, I have been making some cards for upcoming birthdays.  There are a few in June.
I hadn't planned to do one for the page maps challenge and then I got thinking how I could adapt what I was making to submit to the challenge, because the page map was sitting right in front of me on a piece of paper.
It was a challenge I would say!
You had to use the following:

And here is what I came up with.

I can't tell you what any of the papers are as they came out of my leftover stash.
But I think the glasses are pretty cute.  They are a brad!

Pretty quiet day around here.  Kirsten called around 9am to see if I wanted to go with her and Harlee to Home Depot to look at the plants.  She picked a perennials out to go in her garden.  I hope to get in my garden soon after I get the all clear from the doctor.  My appointment is mid week.  Made some cards.  Pretty decent day until later this afternoon and it all clouded up and we had a thunderstorm.

Staying Busy!

Trying to stay busy with Curtis being out of town. I was slow moving this morning!
Awake early, but stayed in bed for a while. Have been crafting.
I watched H&N for a while this afternoon. They played with the Polly pockets, that Nic calls Mary Poppins. And he told me I was a good cooker. I love that Little man! How to make brownie points with his nana. Even though their dad had fed them lunch, they came to graze. Nic had a PB and jelly sandwich and Harlee had cracker, cheese and salami.

Here is the Page Maps sketch I followed today.

I had to flip the sketch to adapt the picture I chose for it!

Another Little Layout

I spent a little time creating this afternoon.
Followed a sketch on the anniversary celebration at Page maps.
You had to use borders.
Here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up with:
Product used:  Background paper- Pink Paislee (Nature Sanctuary)
Borders from Echo Parks-This and That, Be Mine
                                                                           and left over stash

                                                      AC Thickers
                                                      LYB corrugated shapes

Cooper and I spent time together this morning.  Not much napping for him while he is at Nana's.  Got my kitchen floor mopped down. I think it has been since before my surgery that it was last done and that is 3 weeks today.  Working on another creative project that I will share later as it is a gift.

Picture of the week #21

I love this picture, not because it s great, but because it shows total joy from a little boy. Taken at one of H's soccer games.

It's the middle of the week and I have had a busy day!
My mouth is feeling better this evening, although I still made some soft food for dinner.
I was awake early, but went back to sleep until 8. Jumped out of bed and got ready for the day. I headed out to the dreaded Walmart for a few things and also to the health food store.
Kirsten showed up around lunch with Cooper. She went out and got my lawn mowed while I watched the baby. She had a meeting at the school and I picked up H and brought her home for the afternoon. Made some Mac and cheese, some tapioca pudding and some banana muffins.
Pretty busy for me at the moment!
Rain in the forecast for tonight. No time for crafting today!

Mr. C.

Little Cooper is almost another week older. He spent the morning with his nana, while his mama was hard at work. He was happy for a bit and then kind of fussy with only short catnaps. But I did get some snapshots while he was happy!

Also, today, while I was out walking, I tripped on some uneven sidewalk and had a face plant! My upper lip has road rash, my teeth went into my tongue and lower lip. Hard to eat! Need soft foods that don't require much chewing. Miracle I didn't get hurt worse. Usually, I am walking on the road because I know about this part of the sidewalk. I was just not paying attention.

Yesterday afternoon, Kirsten and I headed to the high school to get the munchkins signed up for swimming lessons. They will start the week after school ends.

Layout Creation!

A little celebration is happening on Becky Fleck's Page Map site.  It is the 7th year anniversary.  Lots going on.
I picked the challenge from Kelly Goree, using paper mixology.
Here is the sketch!

And here is my take on the sketch.  I had to convert the sketch to a 12X12 layout for my needs.

Product used: Papers- Bo Bunny-Surprise
                                   Echo Park-Victoria Gardens
                                   Old Scenic Route
                      Title cut on Silhouette
                       Fancy Pants chipboard
                       LYB- epoxy stickers
                        Heidi Grace sticker
Journaling done with a crafter's workshop template
                       Date Stamp- Dear Lizzy.

Yesterday, we did end up watching Harlee play soccer in the rain.  Good thing for umbrellas and rain coats.  I created 2 layouts.  Today, I am trying to clean up my house a little bit since I am feeling better, but no lifting for me yet.
Curtis headed out on the road this morning.  Was still sprinkling out this morning, but seems to have quit now.  Water has been good for the grass, but it is growing like crazy now!

Off to the Movies

Yesterday afternoon Curtis and I headed off to the movie.  We went to see Iron Man 3.  Pretty good flick.  I was just very uncomfortable sitting in those movie chairs by the end.  If they didn't have 30min worth of crap before the show, I would have been OK.  Find I am exhausted by the end of the day.

Yesterday morning I started to clean up my scrap space, since I finished my 2 cruise albums.  Sent one off to my sister on Friday and she should get it this next week.  And I hope she enjoys reliving the memories with it.
Need to do laundry today, since Curtis is headed on the road tomorrow for the next 3 weeks.    Will be watching Cooper a few mornings.

Just Thinking!

Just wondering what my brother is doing?

Just, peeking, Cooper!

Ok, nothing to get excited about!

Happy Friday, everyone! Have a great weekend! Suppose to be rainy here and we can use the moisture!

Our Sleeping Baby

Is a month old today. Crazy, right!!! He got to spend a few hours with his nana this morning. He ate twice and slept the rest of the time. Pretty nice. He does have his moments when he is in distress. Glad it wasn't this morning.

These days, when he is awake, he will coo when you talk to him.
Has the occasional smile.
Recognizes his mama.
Eats about 3-4 oz.

Otherwise, this afternoon, I worked on our cruise albums. And I finished my sister's book, so will be putting it in the mail tomorrow!

Picture of the Week#20

Another pretty quiet day. Visited the grocery store for a few things. Have been back on my daily walks for a good week now! Had a visit from Kirsten and Cooper over lunch hour.
Picture is from H's game last Sunday. It was a hot day for playing soccer and she ran her little heart out. Hard when most of the players are bigger than you.

In the Scrapping Mood

I actually scrapbooked a couple of layouts over the weekend. And the afternoon I worked on Cooper's album- project life style.
I watched Cooper the last 2 mornings for Kirsten, so she could go back to work for a bit. And I played chauffeur and took Harlee to soccer practice this afternoon.
Thankfully not so hot today with temps in the 60's.

This first layout is Harlee's preschool photo. Trying to mix the old with the new. Old papers with Washi tape and some wood veneers that I sprayed with Heidi Swapp's Color Shine. Most of the papers are from an old October Afternoon line(Hometown)

The second layout is again about Harlee at just being 6. I continued using the same paper line. I started my layout and thought the yellow floral was 12X12, but I had cut a little strip off one end. So, instead of giving up and starting over, I just added a piece to the back. I used a couple of Quickutz dies. I used an Ali Edwards stamp, a flair button and some bling. The title is American Craft Thickers as is the 6. The little strip across the bottom is MME.

Happy Mother's Day!

Another Mother's Day has come and almost gone.  I got to spend it with the most important people in my life-My Family (minus Cait)  Curtis and I went to Harlee's soccer game.
Kirsten, Tim and the kids came over after the game.  The kids played outside.
Curtis replaced one of my trellis, and mowed the grass out the front.  I have been watering, because, oh,my goodness-everything is so dry out there.  What happened to all that moisture we received over the winter.  And it was hot and windy today.  Plan to call Caitlin in just a bit and see how her day went.  I had a parcel arrive in the mail from her yesterday with some yummy looking tea and lemon scone mix.  Can hardly wait to try them out!

These little people mean so much to me and this is what being a mother and nana is all about!

My Mother's Day Cards

Thankfully I made my Mother's Day cards the weekend before I had my surgery.  I just used the same design and mixed up the colours a bit.  Wishing all the mother's out there a wonderful celebration tomorrow.  Don't think too much is on our plate.

Have accomplished a thing or two today.  I got Curtis to help me change the sheets on the bed this morning.  I think they finally needed it.
Both of us slept in this morning and it was 8:30 when we woke up.
Kirsten and the boys were here for a bit, while Harlee was at a classmates birthday party near by.
