A Little Travel Journal

I just started working on this little travel journal for our trip to Hawaii. In 2 weeks we will be in Seattle getting ready to fly there.

I used a little Smash book and decorated the cover and now I am working on some of the inside.

I have had a busy day. I was out of the house early to run errands and I had quite a few stops. Picked up a few groceries. Put gas in the rig.
I came home and mopped floors.
Picked up the princess and made dinner and had Kirsten and the kids here. Watched the kids while Kirsten went to a Relay for Life meeting. Her derby team will be participating this year. She just stopped by to pick up the kids.
And i am back for a day at work tomorrow.

A Couple More Cards

To share with you that I put together yesterday.

So onto today- I worked from 6am until about 1pm. We are still admitting babies are full to over flowing. I can't remember the last time We ran with 8 nurses. That is how many were on shift today. And a bunch of us were splitting the shift.
and did I come home and take it easy- oh,no! I set into ironing
Curtis' work shifts. I am sure I did at least 15 shirts and 3 pairs of dress pants. But it is all caught up now. And I watched "The King's Speech" while I worked away.
Easy spaghetti for dinner.
Relaxing now with a glass of wine,

A Trip to the Homeland

This morning, Curtis and I headed north to Lethbridge. I will soon need a new passport and decided I would go home to Canada to get my photos taken, after all the trouble I head last time. It was three round of photos before they finally decided to accept one. Not this time--don't stop at go and head directly to the CAA. I can get the paperwork all ready to send in when we get back from Hawaii. So, it was basically a turn around trip, did find time for lunch at Tim Horton's. A little shopping at Shopper's Drug, Northern Reflection, Addition
elle, and Sears Canada. It was snowing pretty good when we were leaving town and stopped once we head the border--strange, And they now have a Swiss Chalet in Lethbridge--so will be heading there on the next trip.

A Little Creativity

So, these are a couple of the cards I made on Monday when I was so pooped to do much else.

Work is still plaguing me. The unit is still very busy with 20 babies and that is about our limit. And I know that Billings was diverting to us over the weekend,so they are busy too. I worked most of yesterday and was back today to view a webinar on drug withdrawal babies. I do love what Ido,just hate it when politics gets in the way.
We had some wild weather yesterday too. I came out from work and it was 47F out. I went out about 45min later to pick up the princess and it was 33F and it was snowing and blowing like crazy. Making the roads a little slippery this morning.
So, this morning, i went for the webinar, came home and started laundry and baked some cookies. The princess came in after school and wanted to know what smelled so good and was very pleased to have homemade cookies for her snack today.

Pancake Tuesday

Pancake Day ( also known as Shrove Tuesday) is the last day before the period which Christians call Lent. It is traditional on this day to eat pancakes. And so we had pancakes for dinner. This has been tradition for us and so it continues. Good thing we are a household that is fond of pancakes.
And I know Kirsten and her crew were doling the same tonight. Hit up Walmart for some groceries this morning. Got my house picked up and did some laundry. And picked the princess up after school.

My Poor Neglected Blog

I think this photo is kind of cool. It was obviously taken from our car driving home from Arizona.
And since arriving home I have worked about 50 hours in the last week. and I am pooped . I could work every day this week if I wanted to. But I am just exhausted. After not working for the past 6 weeks to go back to a very busy unit full of sick babies is overwhelming. I ran my butt off for the last two days.
So needless to say I just chilled today and did some creating. It is good for the soul.

Can my Husband Multi-Task????

Not normally.

But you would never guess that when looking at this photo.
He is talking on the phone, using his IPod and has his computer going too!
Simply amazing!
Enjoying a chilled out day.
I am bushed after working the last 3 days and then not sleeping very well last night.
I think I was awake every other hour. And then, because i have been up early the past three mornings, I was awake at 4:30 this morning.
I caught up on laundry. I had a phone interview for a great summer job in Alaska.
Had the princess after preschool. And I stopped at Target to get her a new booster seat because I was tired of cramming her in the one we had. She was happy.
AndCurtis got home from his over night in Missoula.

Picture of the Week. #7

This week's photo is from Sedona and the elusive female cardinal that would visit the bird feeders. The male was there too, but I didn't get any photos of him. We don't have cardinals here in MT.
Short post today since I put in a 12 hour shift and just pooped.

So Long, Sedona

This was the sunrise as we left Sedona on Saturday morning,
Two days of driving and we are back home again.
My phone rang a little after 5am this morning and they needed me to come into work. It as been 5-6 weeks since I have actually worked a shift. It worked out so I did about 7 hours and then i could come home.
On call again in the morning and in the meantime trying to do some catching up.

All photos taken while rolling down the road.

The Beauty of Sedona, AZ

This morning Curtis and I left the beauty of sunny Sedona. The desert has it's own beauty-the red rock, the landscape, the vegetation.
Thanks to Robin and Walter for their hospitality.
We had a good drive- past Paige, AZ- along the curvy mountainous roads near the northern edge of the Grand Canyon- skirting Bryce Canyon and heading north into SLC, where we are spending the night.
will continue the drive north tomorrow.

A Visit to Jerome

Yesterday we headed to Jerome, an old mining town.
Today it is filled with yummy restaurants and cute shops.
On the way over we stopped at a second hand store and Curtis found some Argus camera equipment for a good price,
Jerome is built on a hill so lots of climbing. The streets are very narrow.
They believe a lot of the old buildings are haunted and we ate at the haunted hamburger for lunch.
Later, we headed over the mountain to Prescott for some shopping-more on that later.
