After the Storm

We had a pretty good thunderstorm last evening.  Some areas had hail, but we did not.  The roofer finally is done and moved his big truck out of our driveway.  So Curtis could move the SUV and the motorcyle in the garage since they were predicting hail.  We added more rain to our ever increasing total.  This is good since we were so far behind at the beginning of the month.  And it will help the fire situation later on in the summer.
It was a  non productive day for me as I watched Nic and Cooper.  Kirsten had her poker run with the proceeds going to the Relay for Life.  She has a team this year!  Curtis went for the run and ended up with a calendar.  She plans for another one later this summer.  The boys were good.  Nic lost himself with playing Mind Craft on the computer.  Cooper is busy, but did manage to crash on the couch with me while watching a Lilo and Stitch movie.  He loves Stitch, like his mama.
A few photos of Cooper.  He has found he likes swings.  Last year, we tried to put him in the baby swing we had and he wanted nothing to do with it!  It is a  different year.  His brother loved the swing and would fall asleep in it.

He loves the swings and little fort Curtis built in the backyard.

Friday, Already?

Not sure where the days have gone this week, but it is already Friday.
We have had a few days of rain and cool temps.  Got the gardens planted, so with  the rain and cool, I am hoping they will get established before we get a blast of heat!
I had a trip to Target with all the grandkids and spent a buck or two.  Cooper wants every ball in sight.  So, he got a ball that lights up inside.  Nic wants every Lego set on the shelves.  But he settled for a squirt gun and a spray bottle.  His mother will kill me.  Harlee just wanted some princess goldfish to eat, which she got.  And they all got an Icee.  I wanted to make this trip to get some new Playdoh, new bubbles and squirt guns to play outside with at my house.
Kirsten got the big kids all registered for swim lessons in July.  And hopefully Harlee will get to go to girl scout day camp.
Have had a busy morning starting with a hair cut.  Came home and vacuumed through and mopped floors.  Also changed sheets and got them laundered.  Curtis is off on his volunteer blood drive to Missoula.
And the sun has come out and is shining brightly and it is really warming up outside.

A few photos from our drive to the mountains last Sunday.  You can see it was fairly grey and overcast, but we did not have any rain.

This is the part of the state my girls would love to go to girl scout camp in the summer.  They leased some land from a ranch in this area.  And the camp needed some upgrades, I guess they didn't have the funds for and let the lease go.  What a shame!!!  This is truly God's country and it is on the Rocky Mountain front.

Look at all the blue birds sitting on the fence.  Never seen so many flying around before.

Memorial Day

A quiet Memorial Day was spent at our house.
I headed out and got some paint on sale, so I can repaint Cait's old room and make it a little more neutral, rather than Granny Smith Apple Green with Watermelon diamonds.  Also picked up a couple of sewing supplies at Joann's.  I have a table runner almost cut out and ready to put together.
Kirsten and her crew arrived around lunch.  We got the BBQ on and did hot dogs and hamburgers with pasta salad and beans.  The kids were pretty content to play while Tim trimmed some dead branches from our trees and dug up a bush.  Although Cooper thought he should be the one climbing the ladder, so I got out my step stool for him to climb on.  Much safer.
After they left, I managed to get the rest of my flowers planted in pots.  Hopefully everything will thrive, especially since we got rain last night and it is still sprinkling this morning.

The Playdoh came out.  This was a first for Cooper and he quite enjoyed himself.
 A much happier little guy.

Two Year Old Tantrums

Spent a fair bit of time last week with my #2 grandson! And of coarse, we had to spend some time outside!

One day I went to get dirt, mulch and some flowers. Kirsten came to help me and so did Cooper!

We got home and needed to unload! Can I pack up into our driveway to put stuff in the garage! Oh, no! Because the roofer has his big truck parked there. Cooper runs to the backyard. Which is fine, as it is fenced. But he is yelling whee back there! That means he wants a push on the swing! Little does he realize we are busy!
Then he tries to ride the big kid scooter and then has a melt down when he can't figure it out!

Don't you love it! Captured!

And don't those blue eyes get you! I think he will be the only one of 3 with blue eyes!

Curtis and I took an outing to the mountains today and I will post a little teaser. It has been grey and overcast most of the day, until dinner and now the sun is shining brightly. Did a little more planting when I came home.

And a layout of Harlee last Halloween.

Our Noisy Neighborhood

Our neighborhood is typically very quiet with occasional barking dogs! Oh, no, not today!
We are having our roof replaced - so lots of pounding and noise from up there!
And early this morning the saws started up! Kitty corner they were removing trees! At first, I thought they were removing the gorgeous tree on their front yard! Thankfully, not! It was trees from the back! And they needed a cherry picker to reach some of them.

A couple of layouts to share with you.

A Trip To the Fire Station

That was on my agenda this evening with Harlee's Brownie troop!
They got to see fire fighter Joe come down the pole!
They saw a fire truck almost a hundred years old!
And they barely got the tour done and a call came in they needed to respond to! The girls went out and watched the truck leave.

Sketchabilities Challenge #139

It has been a weekend to spend inside.  It has rained and rained and rained.  So needed.  Up until dinner time last evening we had had almost an inch!!!  It is snowing this morning outside of town.  Our friends who live about 10mi to the east just dropped in and said it was snowing at their place and I am sure it is in the mountains too!  Soccer cancelled for today.
Just an FYI--  here it is 3pm in the afternoon and a whopping 37F!!!!!

So I have been playing in my crafting space.

There is a new challenge up on the Sketchabilites blog.

Rainy Friday!

And we so need this moisture! And it is to rain all weekend! We are really behind on our precipitation, so this should help immensely!

I went over to Kirsten's this morning and her little man decided he needed to come home with his nana. He was sitting on the step by her back door waiting for me!

You should have seen him trying to get his shoes and socks on! This was not on my morning agenda, but how could I say no! He will be grown up way too fast! This is the first tome he has wanted to come by his self. But how he loves to ride in nana's rig!
He really wanted to play outside, but it was way too wet.
He still calls me mum! But I heard him say papa when Curtis came in. Every Time he goes in the bathroom he thinks he needs to brush his teeth! He had his first visit to the dentist this week.

Curtis is back on his feet and headed out on a blood drive to Missoula and back.

Wacky Wednesday!

I have had my clothes on and off more times than I want to admit today!

It was time for my yearly check up and mammogram! Oh, joy! Even though I am a nurse I still want to procrastinate with all this stuff.

Yesterday, I put in a few hours at work and it was busy. Ran my little legs off.

Got caught up on laundry, changing sheets and cleaning bathrooms! I can play in my craft space tomorrow!

A couple of cards I made on the weekend

Happy Mother's Day

Hope all the mothers are enjoying their special day!
Laying low as I managed to catch the stomach flu bug Curtis presented with on Friday. Yesterday was my day to spend in the bathroom! Just seem to be gurgling today!
The grandkids stopped by with some little plants for my garden!
It is so nice that I had to go out and pull the dead stuff out and really water it down! That dirt is so dry it will hardly turn over! I also trimmed back a bush drastically! I would prefer if Tim would just dig it up for me!

This is what my Mother's Day cards were like this year.
A pail full of Hollyhocks!

End of the Week

Friday has arrived and it is chilly out.  It has been overcast most of the day.  The contractor was to start on the roof, but didn't want to pull shingles off, if it was going to rain.
Have got to work a few hours this week and they just called to see if I would take call for the nurse that is on flight call tomorrow.  And they forgot to call and cancel me the other day when the person I was relieving was on fatigue hours.  They were wondering why I showed up.  Slightly frustrating.

I have done a little creating,  not as much as I wanted, but some.  I did make cards today.  I needed to make a Mother's Day card to send to Curtis' step mum.

Layout is of Nic last summer roasting marshmallow to make Smores.  He lost a tooth yesterday, so his 2 top teeth are missing.  So awkward!!!

Papers are from MME, Crate Paper, and American Craft- Dear Lizzy
Lots of sequins along the bottom.
I believe the mini letters are Basic Grey.

05-05-2015

Lots of 5's in today!
And I did eat left over Taco Salad for lunch to celebrate Cinqo de Mayo.  That's about as far as the celebrating gets in this household!
Dragging my butt a little today, as I worked all day yesterday.  And I was busy.  I put on a few miles around the unit.  It's been a few weeks since I put in a 12 hour shift and I can feel it today.
But I did manage to get the laundry done, clean my bathrooms and change the sheets on the bed.  So not too shabby.
Had a message from a gal a work- can I work tomorrow pm from 2-6?  Getting in hours while I can.  Will do the same on Thursday for someone else.
Picked up Harlee after school and chauffeured her home.
Got my work done so I can sit and create a little.

A little layout I created of our princess.

            Echo Park (Dots and Stripes)

NSD- The Day After!

Yesterday was National Scrapbook Day! Only important if you scrapbook your precious memories!

But I didn't get much scrapping in. I got to watch 2 young men that are very near and dear to my heart.
Kirsten called from uptown! They were at "Cruisin the Drag"! The boys had had enough and could I cone and get them? I knew I would get Coop, but Nic had had enough too. Nic got involved in playing Mind Craft! I went out with Cooper. He loves the play center Curtis built!

He ate a huge lunch. Cuddled up with nana on the couch after I put a movie on and crashed for 2 1/2 hours. When he woke up he watched the Kentucky Derby with me. Their folks came around dinner time!

So I scrapbooked today!
