New Year's Eve!

Here we are and another year is almost complete!  2015 has been pretty good to the Barrow's.
Ready to start 2016.
Kirsten is having friends to her house tonight to play games and came over and borrowed some folding chairs.  Cait will go to her house for a while.  Curtis is on a Red Cross blood drive to Missoula.
I made some chicken noodle soup this morning and some scones and some more chex mix to end the year.  Tomorrow I will cook up a turkey before Cait returns to the coast.  Kirsten and her crew are invited to join us.
The weather is still pretty cold, and none of the snow we had before Christmas has melted.

A few pictures of the Coop from Christmas day.  You can see the train he got, which he loves
Had to add a photo from almost a year ago, so you can see how much more grown up he is now he is 2 1/2
And he had to show me his ouchie on his finger.
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!!!!!

Christmas Crackers!

One of our big traditions and it has been since I was a kid- is to have Christmas crackers with our Christmas dinner.  It is an English tradition and that is my heritage.  Now the grandkids enjoy it too!!!

Still no crafting.  Maybe today!  Managed to have a busy day.  Since we had more snow, I shoveled the walk.  Did our laundry.  Went to the dentist to get my permanent crown put on.  Ran to the bank and also got some more suet for the birds.  I believe we have a family of flickers invading our back yard.
Curtis and Cait and I went to see the Star Wars movie last night.  To celebrate our anniversary.  Pretty good flick!!!

Let's Play a Little Catch Up

It's been a great few days of celebration with my family.  The only hitch was Caitlin being sick.  She caught herself a goodie, but seems to be on the mend with a little TLC, rest and some good antibiotics.
Christmas Eve the crock pot and the fondue pot came out for a festive meal

Why get this guy toys.  He loves boxes!

The aftermath!!!  Looks like a tornado went through.  I did have to vacuum after Kirsten and her crew left for a while.
Cooper crashed after dinner on Christmas and I think this is how we all feel after the holidays.
Boxing Day, Cait and I went out for a couple of bargains.  I always get my Christmas crackers for the next year when they are on sale.
The 27th Curtis and I celebrated 31 years of being married.  No big celebration this year.
Sunday I had tried to get me some new athletic shoes and where I went was so busy  and no one wanted to wait on me, I just left.
So yesterday, Cait and I headed out again.  I found me an awesome pair of shoes with no laces I have to tie.  Makes them so safe.  An awesome deal on a new pair of boots.  We do need these this year and it has been snowing again.  I got a new pair of jeans on sale and a couple of tops.  All set for my big trip!
Obviously there has been no time for crafting.  Maybe come the New Year!

Merry Christmas 2015

Wishing all my friends and family in blogland that check in on me a very Merry Christmas! Hopefully it will be spent with loved ones!
I had a lovely Christmas Eve! Cait's flight arrived over 2 hours late getting her in here close to 3 am! And she needed to go to the urgent care with a very sore throat! I am thankful it is not Strep and hopefully she will get better quickly now she is on antibiotics.
So thankful we are together.

Almost Here

The big day is creeping closer and closer!
Pretty much ready here! Just a few things I need to cook tomorrow! And with Cait flying in tonight I will have both girls here to help me. I need to make some cinnamon rolls and some eggnog scones for the girls at work! Bless their hearts.
I braved the grocery store this morning! And it was busy!
And we watched the munchkins. Kirsten worked her last shift at Hickory Farms. Cooper had a meltdown when it was time to leave.
We still have lots of snow around do it will be a white Christmas for us! And Christmas day is suppose to be pretty chilly.

Cooper thinks it is fun to build with sprinkles.

He helped me with baking on Sunday and now thinks the counter is the place to hang out.

A plate of all the goodies That U baked. Everyone has their favourite!

And lastly a little card I created.

Winter Solstice!(Picture heavy)

We are officially in Winter Solstice- the shortest day of the year.  And I am happy we will start going the other way now.  I think having such long periods of dark really affects me.  And then when the days are dark and dismal, that does not help other.  Used to the bright sunny skies of big sky country.
Been missing for a few days.  Caught up in some travel to the Flathead to visit Curtis' dad and his stepmum.
We traveled up there after Nic's Christmas program, which I managed to delete the photos off my camera!!!
Enjoyed our visit and delivered gifts and also saw Curtis' brother and his wife.  Thanks to a yummy dinner from the folks.
We drove back on Saturday afternoon and thankful the roads were good for travel.  It was a winter wonderland as we drove back.  The road runs alongside Glacier National Park.

We hit a snow storm at the top of the pass

Once we got over the pass and looked behind, you could see the cloud formation with all the snow in it.  Beautiful!!!

 And one last Christmas card.

A Visit with Santa!

Kirsten wanted to take her three munchkins for a visit with Santa.  Since the kids have an early out on Wed. and Kirsten was off we decided to give it a try. There was not much of a line when we got to the mall.  But, when it was out turn Cooper would not even get near the jolly old fellow!

So this is the story for us this year!
No photo with Santa, despite us trying!

And we got more snow yesterday.  We have had over a foot of snow since Sunday night.  It does look pretty, but that it about it.  And they are saying we should have a white Christmas this year.

Thursday evening was Harlee's last basketball game of the season.  She played real well and even got a few baskets.  Such a vast improvement in her skills this year.

Let it Snow!!

That was yesterdays motto as it snowed away as I continued on my baking blitz!  Yesterday was sugar cookies and shortbreads.  And to cut up and box a couple containers of bars I made.
Toots showed up after school to help decorate the sugar cookies.
At the 5pm news they said we had 7.2 inches and it continued to snow throughout the evening.  And they were predicting 1-3, so that stormed fooled them.  It moved a little further north then they anticipated.
This little guy visited my backyard yesterday.
And today has dawned bright and sunny.
As you can imagine, when I am in the baking mode for Christmas there is very little other creating done.  But I did manage to make a couple of cards while cleaning up my space the other day.

And this will be day 7 in my Dec. daily
Need to get some things wrapped up early and on there way out of state and out of the country.
