January 31st

Last day of this month!!!  No birthdays!!!  Just a day to chill and hopefully create a little.
I do need to run to the grocery store and get a few items.  I am so ready for a quiet day at home!

Thankfully, not much snow overnight.  But, to the north and east they have been dumped on .  And some of the mountains, too.    Wishing spring would hurry up and get here!!!  Winter just lingers on way too long.

Nic was pretty excited about Harlee's birthday the other night.  Only he thought he should open up the big box from Auntie Cait.  It's a long time until his birthday gets here!!!-  July.

In the middle of all the presents!

Happy Birthday, Kirsten!

Today, was Kirsten's birthday.  I helped her celebrate and took her out for lunch.  It was soup and salad bar at Jaker's for the girls and Tim met us from work and had a cheeseburger.  Then Kirsten and I went for a little shopping at Target.  Hope you had a great birthday, Kirsten.

I ran to the post office this morning and then got my hair cut.  After I got home, I headed over the hill to Big R for more bird food.  I didn't realize we were totally out, since Curtis fed the birds last on the weekend.  Then I came home and literally crashed.  I was tired and had about a 30 min. nap.  I am still tired and headed to bed.

No big plans for tomorrow.  I could have worked, but I declined.

Happy Birthday, Harlee

Today, Harlee turns six.  And where have those six years gone???  They have flown by way to quickly.  I wish she could stay six forever, she is so cute!!!
She loves to swim.  She loves Ariel, the mermaid.  Thus she had a swim party.
She loves the movie, Brave.  Her nana got her some Brave figurines and therefore she could have a Brave cake. She loves school.  She loves the snow.  She loves pizza and nana's turkey dinner.  She loves her family.  Doesn't very often want to leave her mama.

I finally am having a few days off of work, although I did get a message-could I work tomorrow PM.  No thanks!!!  I already went in for a 2 hour staff meeting first thing this morning.  And boy, did we get some snow this morning.  I went into my meeting with just a few flakes falling and came out with about 2-3 inches on the ground.  Now the sun is shining and it has turned very cold out.  I believe the weather bug said 1F.  And boy the wind is nasty too.
But, now I have managed to vacuum through and give my floors a much needed wash.
Picking up the birthday girl very soon.
My day in a nut shell.

Picture of the Week#4

I know I am a week behind posting photos, but I will get another one up this week, since we are having birthday celebrations.

I am behind on post, because I have worked part of the last 3 days and I am back there again tomorrow.  It is busy, and many people have asked me to work bits and pieces for them and I feel bad if I don't help them out, if I don't have anything else planned.  And it is somewhat busy in our NICU.

But, today was birthday celebrations for Harlee.  She had a swim party.  Unfortunately, not many of her little friends from school showed up.  I think she had a good time, swimming away, my little mermaid.

It has been a quiet day at home, getting the laundry done.

I wanted to share a photo of my little Daisy Girl Scout, who will turn 6 on Tuesday.  She came over to sell us some GS cookies.  I remember when my household sold these for 15 years straight.

Heading to work shortly for another nurse to finish out the day.  Did that yesterday too and was there until after 7pm.  Busy at the change of shift!!!  And I go back for a full day tomorrow.
And I was asked if I could do Sunday, but that is a princess birthday party at the swimming pool.

Ran to Target and the grocery store for a few items.

Smashing!

I got a Smash book by K&Co to journal our trip to Hawaii, last spring.  I worked on it prior to going, so I was able to journal as we went along.  That is a challenge sometimes.  I took brochures from places we visited and cut them up.  I kept tickets, papers from our cruise to include.

Tracy--this one's for you.

People, otherwise, Smash all kinds of things, thought, events.  How they keep track of things they like.  That is not for me.  But it was an excellent book for my travels and I would do this again.

Actually was productive creatively and made most of my Valentine cards!!!  But, I need to make some Birthday cards with birthdays coming next week!!!!

Not sure what I am up to today.  Curtis is on a day trip to the Flathead and was on the road by 6am.  That is about 8 hours worth of driving time today for him!!!

One Last Layout

to share for now.
Took photos of my Dec. Memory book.  But I had to put a new memory card in my camera, and now it won't load onto my desk top.  So I will have to try and load photos on to my IPad to share.
Also want to take photos of my Smash book, I used when we traveled to Hawaii last spring to show Tracy.

I have two sick little grandkids and so I made them some chicken noodle soup.  I have delivered it, plus their Leapsters.  I think they were more excited to get their Leapsters than the soup.

It's a nice day out, sunny and in the 40's with not too much wind currently.

Yesterday, Curtis and I went out to lunch and tried a new place- The Moonshine Grill.  It was pretty good.  We both had chicken sandwiches of different varieties and both were good.  I would go back again.

Product used:  Papers were from Fancy Pants design and Daisy D(that's going way back!)
Embellishments were from Fancy Pants Design, SEI, Making Memories, MME
Title was cut on the Silhouette

Picture of the Week #3

The last few days have been kind of busy for me and I have just crashed in the evening!!

Thursday, I worked half a day, ran to the grocery store, picked up Harlee from school.  And when you start your day at 4:30, by evening you are one tired puppy.
Friday, I helped Kirsten sort out kid clothes. I ran a errand or two.  Picked up Harlee, since they got out early and Kirsten couldn't be in two places at one time.  I came home and mopped floors and vacuumed through.  And Curtis got home from Missoula.
I worked all day yesterday and glad to be off today.

Everything has been melting out the past few days with highs in the 40's.  It is all a mess with water standing around.  Our street out front was melting and then refroze, so it is like a skating rink.

My picture is back from my California trip.  The ocean after the storm.

But now I am a bear with sun screen for my kids and grandkids.

Managed to get all my errands run before my surgery and laid low when I got home.

Glad Curtis is spending a couple of days with me too!

Weekend with Scrapping

This weekend was a weekend perfect for scrapping.  After all the snow and now the cold had set it I didn't really want to go out.  I worked on our laundry and did some scrapping.  I worked on my Dec. memory book, which I am still doing.  And I managed to finish 3 layouts.

It is CHA time right now and Two Peas in a Bucket has several challenges going on right now.  Incentive for me to complete a layout or two.
The first layout I did was to use 9 items on my desk.  Not hard since I have been working on our Dec. memory book.

We're in the Deep Freeze.

We are currently experiencing the deep freeze after the dump of snow of Thursday and Friday.  The weather folks say we had officially 7in. of snow.  But it is looking more like 8-10 on my back deck.
Enjoying my days off and plan to scrapbook and not be outside in the cold.
Yesterday, I did have to go out on the snowy streets and run some errands.  But, I did stay on my side of town and didn't venture too far.

Curtis drove home from the Flathead, coming over Marias Pass and said the road weren't too bad.  I was glad to have him home safe and sound.

Picture of the Week #2

For this weeks photo we are traveling back to California for a pelican picture.  Now everyone should know that pelicans are nana's birds according to Princess Harlee.  They are decorating my upstairs bathroom and therefore my birds.  Interesting.
Anyhoo, they do hold my interest.  And I am partial to this picture.  I took it with my telephoto lens so they look really close.
We are in the midst of a winter storm.  It has snowed hard all day!!!  And I had to go out in it.  I picked up Harlee after school and took her home and then I headed into work for a couple of hours, as a gal requested I finish the shift out for her.  I came home, shoveled the walk, so I don't have to face 10 inches in the morning.  Looked like about 6inches had accumulated on the back deck when I came in.  Supposed to get snow all night.

Homemade Turkey Noodle Soup

My gosh, the days have flown by here.
One lesson to learn!  Don't answer the phone when it rings before 7am in the morning.  I was sucked into the vortex called work on Monday morning.  They didn't have enough staff and I said I would go in to help cover.  And I actually left around 2:30 to go and get much needed groceries.  And then I went back in at 5pm to help with an unanticipated delivery.  I need my head examined, I believe!!!!
So, yesterday I was beat after having worked 3 out of the last 4 days.  And that other day I worked around home.
I had some turkey leftover from New Year's that I had been saving to make soup with, so yesterday I got to it.  Also got bills paid up.

We are in a winter storm watch, expected to start tonight.  With 10in. of snow expected over the next day or so.  Figures, as Curtis is on the other side of the mountains working away.  The snow shovel will be out again once more.

Picture of the Week #1

Here we go again. I am always posting lots of photos, but will try to designate one special one for the week. Not quite up to Curtis' and Robyn's standards of a photo a day. That is was too much for me. But a picture a week is doable.

It a winter scene taken up near Essex, Mt.

I worked yesterday, off today, and work tomorrow. Then I am off the rest of the week. I need to go to the grocery store later today. Just having a quiet morning at home.
Cait flew back to the coast yesterday. Sure missing her already. It was great having her home the 2 weeks she was here. It went way too quickly.

Scenes of Winter

Winter, here in Montana can be so beautiful. Let's enjoy it's beauty, because it seems like it is here forever!!! Pictures were all taken on our drive home from the Flathead valley near Glacier Park. Today, we are to have some warming and melting.
It is also Caitlin's last full day here and she will be headed back to the coast.
Curtis spent the night in Missoula with my toothbrush! The rest of us enjoyed a meal of Chinese last night for dinner.
Yesterday, Cait and I managed to get her a new cell phone, send a box of pots and pans out for her new flat, drop a bag of stuff at Good Will(she cleaned out her closet), get her bangs cut and visit the post office. And that was all before lunch!
Maybe today I can get the Christmas boxes stored away and catch up on laundry. Cait will go back with, mostly clean clothes.

It's another family photographer!
