The Calm Before the Storm

The first 2 photos are from the snow today--has given me an awful headache today.
The other photos of the rocky mountain front were taken on Sunday, when Curtis and I were out taking a drive. It was the opening day of hunting season, and therefore no critters out.

A Couple of cute layouts

I did this weekend while scrapping away. Out to lunch with friends today. Oh, so windy out!

It's been a Heidi Swapp Weekend!

How lucky I have been to take scrapbooking classes from the uber talented and totally creative Ms Heidi Swapp. I have been fortunate to take classes from her at her Creative Escape event in Pheonix. But she was right here in my home town teaching 5 classes and I took them all. Projects from a wall hanging, a energy journal, a time and season album and a memory album and her creative escape project from this year. Will do a little write up of all the projects later. The weekend has been so inspiring.

Some Halloween baking

Baked a few sugar cookies yesterday, so I could send a few to my darling daughter in Tacoma.

Have the grand kids today, so that will be fun for all.

Also having the carpets cleaned later today.

Curtis is headed to Missoula for the day.

And I get to created and Scrap with Ms Heidi Swapp the next couple of days--more photos to follow.

Halloween is Creeping up on us!

Have been working on some Halloween letters for Kirsten and I. Finished them up and here they are.
Not doing much today, but recuping from working a couple of days. Finally got my badge to work on the locked up fridges. Lots of walking in the new unit. Now I am off for a long stretch. Going scrapping on the weekend with Heidi Swapp. She is actually coming here to Great Falls to teach some classes. Hope to get the creative juices flowing.
Just had a call from work--told I am supposed to go and get a swine flu shot on Thurs and if I don't I will be wearing a mask for the rest of flu season. I don't like being told what to do--I would rather it be my own decision. What happens if I am not here in town that day???
Will follow up on this issue later.

Happy Saturday!

I have been rather lax the last couple of weeks, keeping my blog up to date. We have been in a middle of a move at work, plus taking classes for new equipment and working extra. It is a new era for our NICU--the babies all have their own rooms now. It will take some getting used too. And it turns out my badge lets me into some things, but not into others.
Curtis is off chasing some train from Shelby to Cutbank and beyond. He tells me he is now on his way home. I just wasn't into chasing trains today. I have almost finished my Halloween runner. And was also ironing some shirts for Curtis so he would have lots for next week.
Also a quick layout I did of Nicholas.
The weather has just been bizarre this last week--first snow and temps that couldn't get out of the 20's. Today is really windy and up in the 60's. The leaves are still green on the trees or have turned an ugly brown. No beautiful fall colours this year.

Happy Birthday, Lauree!

Today is my sister's birthday-so sending birthday wishes your way! Hope you have a happy one.

We awoke to snow on the ground and temps of 21F. Not sure what happened to fall---most of the leaves on the trees are still green. Glad we put hoses and such away last weekend. I am sure there are people caught that haven't had their sprinklers blown out yet.

Grandkids

Took a few photos on Sunday, when we had Harlee and Nicholas for a while, so their mom could work on cleaning their room. I am sure that is a job and a half. Nicholas fell asleep in his high chair while eating lunch. I guess the grandparents wore him out. And Harlee was enjoying tracing with the crayons.

Hike to Memorial Falls

Curtis and I headed out for a drive to Memorial Falls late this morning. I packed us a lunch. The falls is out past Monarch and Neihart, on the way to Showdown Ski area. You have to hike in to the falls. The path is rough in places and uphill. Got my exercise in today. And yes, there was snow up there, from our snowfall earlier in the week. More predicted for tomorrow.. The trees are starting to turn since we were in the mountains.

World Card Making Day

How appropriate that I posted all those cards yesterday, since today is world card making day.
Now here is a new layout I did of Harlee.

October----Already????

Not really sure where September went and I am sure the rest of the year will follow quickly. I have been busy working and not really anything exciting to blog about. At work we are getting ready to move into a lovely new unit where all the babies have their own rooms. A little stressful for the nurses right now. But, I still have been creating. Here are a few cards I have made lately. Nice fall day out--sunny and around 60F out. Going out to clear old dead plants from the garden. Curtis is putting the hoses away for the winter. Supposed to be freezing temps and snow later this weekend. The mountains have snow on them from when it rained on Wed. Old Man Winter is lying in waiting I think. And just last week we were having record temps in the 90's.
