Happy Birthday to the one I Love!

Today is Curtis' birthday. Darn it, he had to work. But I cooked a nice turkey breast for dinner and baked a yummy cake. And he had a phone call earlier today from Cait.
Harlee had soccer practice this evening. Yes, she did. It actually was nice out mad not raining or snowing. So we had cake, candles and ice cream after soccer practice. And gifts.

Hope you have enjoyed your day and hope we get to celebrate many more together!

Playing Catch up at Home!

Today, I get to work at home. Changing sheets.  Laundering sheets and towels. Putting away clean laundry from yesterday.  Vacuuming through.  Mopping down my hardwood floors and lastly, cleaning the bathrooms.  Someone has to do it, right???

It currently looks nice out.  Weatherbug says it is 49F.

Heading out to a NICU nursing conference later this week.  I think with the CEU's I receive I will have enough to renew my license at the end of the year.

Got to scrap a couple more layouts over the weekend.  And starting to organize the last couple of days of our Disney trip in the album.  Doing a combination tradtional and pocket pages requires some thought and organizing.  But, I like the end result.

Hope you are having a wonderful start to this new week.  Almost another month gone!!!

A Dismal Saturday!

It is Saturday to spend indoors.  It has been raining and misting.  And only 41F.

So, that is what I have been doing, except a short run to the grocery store.

Toots stayed the night with us.  She had a bath in nana's big tub.  Crashed around 9pm.  This morning she played Animal Crossing on the Wii.  Her papa made her pancakes.  And then we all played Disney Apples to Apples.  By then it was noon and her mama came and got her.

I got some groceries to hopefully create dinner with tonight.

These pages I created for when we took Harlee for her princess lunch.  You can see the page on the left is much smaller than the 12X12 page.

So you can see all the detail on the page
This isn't what I first imagined for this page.  But then I saw the seaweed behind Harlee and Ariel and thought I would try and recreated a real under the sea page.

This is so you can see some of the detail I did.  The leaves I ran through an embossing folder and inked them up.  I added seashells and fish and glitter.

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho

It's off to work I go.  But only for a half a shift to fill in for a gal that wants to leave early.  I had hoped I would get cancelled since there are not so many babies, but no such luck!  Curtis should be home by the time I get done.  And picking up Toots on my way home.

Posting on my blog now, as I don't think I will feel much like doing it when I get home, or will be too busy with Toots.

Ran a few errands this morning- to the bank, to the post office.  Pick up milk and eggs.  And took photos of a few layouts in better lighting than last evening.

Hope you like this cute layout I made of Harlee.  The photos were just too cute!

I used the negative of the castle I used on a previous layout.  The Tiara and the wand are a Quickutz die that I used glitter paper.  I glitzed them up!  And used sparkly Thickers for the title.

Not Much Time at Home Today

Thus no creating!!!

I had skills training at work until well after noon today.  Was up early and did a few things before I headed to the hospital.  When finished it was a quick trip around Target for a few necessary items that are almost gone.

I picked up Toots after school and took her home.  Had planned to take her to soccer practice, but that was cancelled because it was raining.  Home for the evening now.  Short post for today.

I agreed to work tomorrow afternoon for a gal.  But our census is down, so hopefully I will just get to stay at home.  Anymore, that is just dreaming!!!!

Today you get two pocket pages that sit next to each other until I have better light to photograph some other pages I have completed.

Keeping the Home Fires Burning,

while Curtis is on the road this week.  Soon, very soon he will be retired and at home driving me up the wall.
Pretty quiet around here today, until this little guy showed up.

He is like the demolition derby arriving in your house anymore!!!  No corner is unturned while he is around.  The bathroom door is closed!  The craft room door is closed!  The blinds are opened up so he isn't trying to pull them down.  Today he found the cords for them.  It was a quick move out of that local!  He was here for a few hours while his mum worked the lunch rush at her job.  He ate a pretty good lunch, no more baby food for him!  He did actually nap a while for his nana.   But, he sure wears this nana out.  I am sure glad I didn't have boys.  I love them to death, but can't keep up with their antics.

Working, Working, Working!

That is the theme for day.  It was like we had a revolving door in the NICU today.  I ran my little legs off and I am pooped.  Won't be up much longer.

After such a beautiful spring day yesterday, it is pouring cats and dogs out there and has been since this afternoon.  Pleased it is only rain and not SNOW, because it sure would be piling up out there!!!!

This post is going to be short and sweet.  A couple of cutie photos I took yesterday of my sweeties when they came to visit.  Nic was too much a busy bee and no time for photos.

And can you see what has appeared on my trees out back just since the weekend.  Spring is slowly emerging!  Thank goodness!

Have to include one little layout.

Is our House Haunted??

or are we just going crazy?????  For a few weeks now, both Curtis and I have heard this squeaky toy going off.  It sounds like it is coming from Cait's old bedroom.  Like a dog's toy.  It only squeaks once.  And it is random.  But, both once Curtis and I heard it at the same time.  This morning he was sitting at the kitchen table and heard it, only he said it was right beside his ear.  I was in the bathroom with the fan going, so I heard nothing.  I have only heard it in the daytime, never at night.  Weird?  Let me know what you think.

It was a beautiful Easter weekend, considering the weather we have had lately!  Yesterday, Curtis and I and Harlee did some clean up in the back yard.  Not totally done, but it was a good start.  It is supposed to be another gorgeous day with a high near 70F.

I am majorly cleaning today.  Folded and put away laundry I did yesterday.  Changed the sheets on the bed and washed them.  Took down some little curtains, washed them and they are out on the line drying.  Cleaned my bathrooms.  Mopped the bathroom downstairs and now working on the upstairs.  Taking a little break, while part of the floors dry.

Continuing to work on the Disneyland album.

Happy Easter 2014

Happy Easter to all my friends and family, near and far.  It looks like another beautiful day here, on the central plains of Montana.

Finally we are having a few warm days, with more snow lurking in the forecast for the end of this week.

It has been a wonderful weekend for this family.  Yesterday, after Kirsten finished work, we all went out for lunch.  It wasn't too crowded and was very nice.

We came home and had an egg hunt in the back yard.  Harlee loves this, and I think Nic does too!

It was just nice to be outside and enjoy a little sunshine and get some Vit. D.  The kids did chalk art, played on the swing and rode their bikes.

Harlee had to have a sleep over at nanas.  We worked on art projects.  She had a bath in nana's big tub and we watched the pirate fairy movie, all together.  Pretty fun.

A here are the Easter cards I sent out this year.  Pretty simple, fast and easy, but look nice.  Made from a cut file on my Silhouette.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Cooper!

It has been a very busy day at our household and I am bushed. Not only is it Good Friday, but it is Cooper's first birthday!
Kirsten was at our house early. She left the big kids here, while she ran Cooper to his first year check up. He is a big guy, weighing in at 26lb.-2oz. and 32in. long!
When she returned it was time to dye Easter eggs with H&N. Cooper kept us company in the high chair. This is an Easter tradition since my kids have been little. Caitlin was going to dye eggs out in Seattle.

They left to meet their daddy for lunch. I ran to the grocery store for a couple of things for dinner. Shortly after I got home the power went out.  The wind was blowing like crazy.   It had been off for almost an hour, and I was getting a little antsy about dinner. I had put a ham in the slow cooker a couple of hours earlier. I was happy to have it come back on and continue with the dinner prep!

Cooper's birthday wheels

He was more interested in his dad's Dew than the cupcake with the candle.
He didn't like the idea of going back in the high chair for his cupcake.  We took his shirt off and you will see why.  He didn't like the cupcake much at first and then he tasted the icing.  Yum!!!  and he devoured it!

He was a mess and so was my kitchen.  He got a dunk in the tub before he went home!

And here is the card I made him.
