It's a Wrap for July!!!!

Hard to believe another month has passed us by. Hard to believe another month of 2012 is gone. These months just seem to be flying by and before we know it will bw Christmas again. And a month from now the kids will be back to school.

Today was kind of a chill back day.. It has been, oh so, hot the last two days. There are fires raging with it being so dry and I can smell smoke in the air.

Worked an extra shift yesterday and will be back for more on the weekend. Will have the grandkids here tomorrow for the day. See what fun activities we can come up with. I hope it won't be quite so hot and we can be outside.

Will end with a layout that I recently finished.

Saturday's Project

When Curtis was headed back from Bozeman yesterday, I asked him to stop at Costco in Helena to pick up some raspberries. Not only did he bring raspberries, he brought blackberries too. My objective for the weekend was to make some yummy jam.
I played in my sewing area this morning while I did the laundry.
Then I started to make jam. I could only do 3batches, as that was all the fruit pectin I had. But I did make those 3 batches.

Keeping Busy

while Curtis is on the road for a couple of days.
Today I mowed the lawn, cleaned the bathrooms.  Got up high in the kitchen and wiped down all the tins and the top of the cupboard that they sit on.  And then to end my afternoon, I got my ironing pile down to nothing!!!!
Back to work in the am for one day!!!  I guess they are busy, as they admitted a bunch of babies today.    Have the weekend off with my hubby.  And I am taking it off, as I work the next 2 weekend.
We shall see what kind of trouble we can get into.
We need to power wash the deck, and then restain parts of it.
Putting my feet up for the evening, since I had a pretty productive day.
Will leave you all with a little layout
Most of the product used was from Bo Bunny's "Little Miss" collection.

Suzanne's-In Good Company Challenge

I have been trying to do a layout for this challenge for days and it just didn't happen.  I have either been watching the grandkids or working 12 hour shifts in our NICU.  Doesn't leave much energy at the end of the day, doing either one.
But last Sunday, I finally had some time to myself and got this started and finished it off today.
You were to use Pink Paislee product.  Here challenge is here---.http://snapsandsnippets.blogspot.com/2012/07/in-good-company-with-pink-paislee.html

This layout has a couple of paper from PP and the rest is Bo Bunny
Pink Paislee Paper from Declaration- Bomb Pop, Block Party
Bo Bunny - Liberty collection

Have had a busy morning, getting my house picked and cleaning through.
Little bit cooler today, with highs only in the 80's.
Getting the A/C replaced over the next couple of days finally.

Hey, Nic. Let me Help You!

Last week when I was watching H&N, H wanted to do stencils. Then N wanted to give it a try and this is something he has never done before. And H offered to help her little brother out. Kept him entertained for a bit. And nice to see them working together.

Yesterday I actually created. I made a couple of layouts, that I will post in the next day or two. Curtis and I went out for a yummy breakfast. I took time to have a nap in the afternoon. We ran over to Kirsten's to give Tim his birthday present and I had made him his favourite banana cream pie.

And I worked today.

Say Cheese, Please

Here, I finally get both grandkids standing close to each other. Do you think I can get them to look up and smile at the same time. Nope. But they are cute anyway, enjoying a Popsicle since it has been so hot here the past few days.
Worked a long 12 hour shift today and happy to be off tomorrow.

The Great Bunny Caper

Yesterday a bunny visited the backyard while the grandkids were out the back.  They were interested following him around the yard.  I think it likes to munch on the bird seed and the apples out there.  I am not sure it will be back after the kids chased him around yesterday.  Last evening we got the grass mowed before it gets sprayed for grubs today.  And we borrowed a couple of fans from Kirsten until our A/C gets fixed.

We Survived

The last 4 days with H&N. Sent them home this afternoon with their mum and dad. Not before Harlee asked if she could stay at Nana's for dinner. Does my heart good that she loves to come over to her Nana's.

She and I had a conversation earlier this morning that just broke my heart. She says to me- Nana, I don't know what I am going to do when you get old and die.
Big crocodile tears are coming down her cheeks and I am blubbering too. What little 5 year Old thinks of these things? I love this little Toots to death.

But I don't know if I will survive the next 4 days. Our A/C got fried the other night in the doozy of the storm. We had a surge that fried our condenser. So, it's a good thing I am working tomorrow as it will probably be an expensive fix or replacement.
And the temps are to soar into the 90's. I am just glad I called someone and got the repair process started today.

Just a picture or two from the weekend. The play doh was a big hit. There's sure a mess on the back deck that will hopefully clean up when we power wash, prior to staining.

Doozy of a Storm

We had a doozy of a thunderstorm during the night. The power went out with the first big lightening strike. Thankfully H&N didn't wake up, but Curtis and I did. And it rained hard-means I don't have to water the grass today.
We took a drive to Helena yesterday for a Costco run and get a few things at Lowes. Took the grand kids to Burger King for lunch and headed home. We spent the rest of the afternoon in the backyard. The play doh and pool have been keeping them occupied. Their mum and dad will be home tomorrow.
Just putting up pictures from the family wedding last week. Nice to see Curtis' siblings all together and with their dad. That doesn't happen too often.

On the Road with Curtis

Today, Curtis had a long day on the road. It was a 4 hour drive one way to Hamilton, which is west and south of us. I told him I would go with, to keep him company and help drive if needed. All for 45 min. worth of work.
It is hazy and smokey out. One could smell the smoke as soon as we opened the door in Hamilton.
We took a little drive through the John Metcalfe Nature Refuge.
Before we got there I noticed these 2 huge birds sitting on some fence posts, with another 3 flying around. Turns out they were some kind of vulture. Also one sand hill crane walking around in a field.
Not too much happening until we got to the last pond. Saw a couple of blue heron, but they flew away before the camera got out. We were driving along and saw some osprey and ducks on the water. Soon we turned the corner and could see another blue heron fishing in the water. We had a performance by the osprey fishing the waters. A cool outing.

Lake MacDonald

Friday, when we were going through Glacier Park we made a little stop at Lake MacDonald . We all could get out and stretch our legs. Harlee could wade in the lake and throw stones in the water . And of coarse, we needed to have an ice cream cone.

Testing out that oh, so, cold glacier water.

Don't you love the fashion statement- polka dots and checks!!!

Throwing stones in the lake

Some of the treasure (stones) she kept. I believe they are still in papa's vest pocket.

Today, I was out mowing the grass early before it got too hot. Did a little ironing. Then I headed into work around 11am. They were discharging 3 babies and I left work around 5:30---just in time to come home and pee and then head to get Harlee and take her to the pool for swimming lessons.
