Monterey Bay Aquarium

This was our destination yesterday. We found an street side park and headed out in the torrential rainfall. It wasn't a long walk, but we were like drowned rats by the time we reached the aquarium. I bought a reusable bag for us to carry our wet gear in.
The aquarium is beautiful and has changed immensely since we visited here 15 or 16 years ago. Currently their otter exhibit is closed for reconstruction. But they had an awesome jellyfish exhibit open. Their is music playing that makes you think you are under the sea. And it is extremely kid friendly. There is a huge fish tank as you first enter that is floor to ceiling glass. And you can watch a diver go in here at scheduled times to feed the fish. I would certainly recommend a trip here if you are visiting the Monterey area.
We came out from the aquarium and thankfully the rain had let up and was mostly just a drizzle. We remarked the car and headed for a stroll down cannery row, which is full of little shops. We had driven down this road several times and had missed seeing Johnny Rockets tucked away in a little corner. We stopped here for a very late lunch. We came out and the skies were clearing. We headed down to the beach for the rest of the afternoon and enjoyed a beautiful sunset, which made for some great photos. First sun I have seen since I arrived.
