Life Getting in the Way

Of posting on my Blog! Been a few days since I have posted. Just a real busy time .

I worked on Monday and Tuesday, so yesterday was playing catch up

Kirsten called in the morning to see if I could pick up the princess from school as she wasn't feeling well. She was waiting in the office looking pretty pale. We ran to Walgreens to pick up some cough drops and cold meds.

She asked her nana to make her homemade chicken noodle soup for lunch and how can you say no? Out came the pot! She had a bath in our big tub and I think she was feeling better when we took her home!

I initially thought I was working Tues. and Wed, until I checked the schedule!!! Oh, no! I had written it down wrong on my calendar. I had promised Kirsten I would watch Cooper! So, Mr Mum stepped up to the plate.

After having all our snow melt with the record high temps last week we had more snow over the weekend! Big fluffy flakes falling down!

I have a feeling that this next week leading up to Christmas will fly by. Look forward to having my baby home for a few days! And I am off the whole time she is here! It will be a good visit!

We hit a Record High Today

It was 64F on this 12th day of December.  And I didn't even go out to enjoy it.  I was busy getting my house cleaned up.   They say back to winter tomorrow, with rain and snow.

My manager asked earlier this week if I could work extra yesterday.  I told her no, as it was Harlee's program.  But I told her I could work today, if she could find someone to switch off today for yesterday.  And she did.  But the census is down in the NICU, so I didn't have to go in, just be on call.

Harlee came over after school and we played Tangled on the Wii.  She told me she likes me playing Wii with her.  Probably because she is a lot better at it than her nana.

Have another little card for the Impression Obsession Clean and Simple Holiday card.  I was using that same deer die. I used the negative image once again.  I offset the circles and used some sequins.  Pretty simple.
Will be watching the grandkids tomorrow evening, so Tim and Kirsten can go to Tim's work Christmas party.
I gave Nic some batteries so he could use his Wii controller at home.  He took home WallE to play.

One Busy Day

Glad I took a breather yesterday! Today was pretty busy!

I headed out the door early and headed to the post office to mail a box off to my sister.

I came home and made a batch of sugar cookie dough. Curtis wanted to rae cookies to the camera club christmas meeting. Also made some mint bars. Kirsten and Cooper came over.

It was Harlee's Christmas program at school. Always lots of people there.

The sang Silent Night and signed it too!

Trying to photograph around people is always a challenge!

She was done early and we brought her back to bake and decorate sugar cookies!

Freezer paper on the table makes for easy cleanup!

She talked grandpa into helping her!

Middle of the Week

and we are enjoying highs in the 50's.  All our snow has melted due to those Chinook winds.

I had kind of a quiet day, which I needed.  Been going full tilt for a few days and it just caught up with me.  Just can't accomplish what I used to in a day!!!  That makes me sad.

I had a dentist appt. this morning and they called to see if I could come an hour earlier, as the next appt. had had some car problems and couldn't make it for their appointed time.  So, whoosh, out the door I went.

Just before I went, Curtis saw a mouse scamper across the kitchen floor.  Why is it always him?  I have spent so much time in the kitchen the last few days.  So, while I was at the dentist office he was off getting a mouse trap.  Been a couple of years since we have had a furry visitor.

I got the wash done.  I wrapped a few gifts.  Got my sisters box of Christmas goodies all ready to send in the mail.

Tomorrow is Harlee's Christmas program at school.  Nic's is next week.

I made a couple of cards for the challenge on the Impression Obsession Blog.  A  holiday card that is clean and simple.  Here is what I came up with using the deer trio die 080-N.

This first card I cut out the scalloped edge circle and embossed it.  I used the negative cut of the deer and put some sparkly red behind it and then a couple of red bling.  Pretty clean and simple.
This card I also used the negative and filled it in with some shiny gold!

Let the Baking Commence!!

Last week, Kirsten and I decided we would do some Christmas baking since she was off all the way around today.

The day started off with beauty.

I started by making Austrian Chocolate balls.

We wanted to make the peanut butter cookies with the Hershey kisses on top? These are one of Tim's favorites! We sat down to unwrap the kisses. We had a little help! He put the whole thing -wrapper and all in his mouth!!!

He gave us a good laugh!

Ran out of kisses, so put m&m's on the last few.

Grandpa kept him entertained for awhile.

After Cooper left, I found a little surprise in my dishwasher.

I guess he thought the train hanging on my tree needed a wash!
