My Boo Hoo Day!!!

I had to put my baby back on the plane to Seattle early this morning and what a morning it was.
She has pretty much been sick since she arrived.  But thankfully much better.

I had trouble sleeping last night, of course!
I woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep.
I finally got up at 4:10 and got a shower, as I ended up going into work for a few hour this morning.
Cait's plane departed at 6am, so she had to be at the airport at 5am, with a 20min drive across town.
I waited with her until she got rid of her luggage with a tearful goodbye.
We drove all the way across town to home and she was ringing on the phone.
TSA wouldn't let her carry her new blender on the plane!  What!!!!
And it was 5:20 by now and I start work at 6am.
Curtis says I can't drop you at work and get up to the airport and get the blender before she has to clear security.  I called work and told them I could be a little late.
So, off we go back to the airport.  I had to wait in the security line for them to bring out the blender.
Back down the hill we went and pulled up to the hospital at 6am exactly!!
I haven't worked any hours since Dec.8, since the unit has been so slow.  The rest of the hospital has been busy.  I worked about 5.5hours today.
And came home and was so tired I took about an hour nap and then came in my scrap space and created.
Colours are rather subdued as it is cloudy and dull out!
Papers from Echo Park, MME, We R Memory Keeper, and Amy Tangerine
American Craft Thickers
Big star is Bella Blvd
Wood Veneer?
Navy Colorshine
Mini letters are Authentique

After taking the Christmas tree down yesterday, I had planned to take the rest of the decorations down today, but that has not happened.  Always tomorrow!!!
And the grandkids are back to school tomorrow, too!

2016- A Brand New Year!!

Here we start with a brand new year!  Lots to look forward to!
It has started off with a bright sunny day and warmer than it's been in a while. It's a whopping 30F out!
I actually managed to stay up until midnight to open the front door and greet the new year.
Cutis got home close to 10pm last night and we went out searching for the Northern Lights.  You could see them on the horizon, but you couldn't see them dancing across the sky!
Cooking a turkey dinner that Cait can enjoy before she flies back to Seattle early on Sunday.  It has been a nice visit with her and thankfully she is feeling much better! Kirsten and her crew came for dinner too.  And Harlee is spending the night.
Today,  I will start to dismantle Christmas decorations!  I will have Cait help me get the tree down.
Curtis is doing an Avis shuttle to Bozeman.
I have created a card.
Linking it up to Simon Says Stamp, where the challenge is to create a card with the theme PARTY.

It is a Shaker card and I love the bright colours I used.
I have a couple of birthdays coming up later this month.
I also would like to include a couple of my favourite layouts from the past year that I created

New Year's Eve!

Here we are and another year is almost complete!  2015 has been pretty good to the Barrow's.
Ready to start 2016.
Kirsten is having friends to her house tonight to play games and came over and borrowed some folding chairs.  Cait will go to her house for a while.  Curtis is on a Red Cross blood drive to Missoula.
I made some chicken noodle soup this morning and some scones and some more chex mix to end the year.  Tomorrow I will cook up a turkey before Cait returns to the coast.  Kirsten and her crew are invited to join us.
The weather is still pretty cold, and none of the snow we had before Christmas has melted.

A few pictures of the Coop from Christmas day.  You can see the train he got, which he loves
Had to add a photo from almost a year ago, so you can see how much more grown up he is now he is 2 1/2
And he had to show me his ouchie on his finger.
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!!!!!

Christmas Crackers!

One of our big traditions and it has been since I was a kid- is to have Christmas crackers with our Christmas dinner.  It is an English tradition and that is my heritage.  Now the grandkids enjoy it too!!!

Still no crafting.  Maybe today!  Managed to have a busy day.  Since we had more snow, I shoveled the walk.  Did our laundry.  Went to the dentist to get my permanent crown put on.  Ran to the bank and also got some more suet for the birds.  I believe we have a family of flickers invading our back yard.
Curtis and Cait and I went to see the Star Wars movie last night.  To celebrate our anniversary.  Pretty good flick!!!

Let's Play a Little Catch Up

It's been a great few days of celebration with my family.  The only hitch was Caitlin being sick.  She caught herself a goodie, but seems to be on the mend with a little TLC, rest and some good antibiotics.
Christmas Eve the crock pot and the fondue pot came out for a festive meal

.

Why get this guy toys.  He loves boxes!

The aftermath!!!  Looks like a tornado went through.  I did have to vacuum after Kirsten and her crew left for a while.
Cooper crashed after dinner on Christmas and I think this is how we all feel after the holidays.
Boxing Day, Cait and I went out for a couple of bargains.  I always get my Christmas crackers for the next year when they are on sale.
The 27th Curtis and I celebrated 31 years of being married.  No big celebration this year.
Sunday I had tried to get me some new athletic shoes and where I went was so busy  and no one wanted to wait on me, I just left.
So yesterday, Cait and I headed out again.  I found me an awesome pair of shoes with no laces I have to tie.  Makes them so safe.  An awesome deal on a new pair of boots.  We do need these this year and it has been snowing again.  I got a new pair of jeans on sale and a couple of tops.  All set for my big trip!
Obviously there has been no time for crafting.  Maybe come the New Year!
