One Picture, Two Layouts

I had a old photo of the grandkids with Santa when they were real little, just a year or so ago that I wanted to scrap.  One for each of them.  So, I had one picture and did 2 different layouts and they are slightly different.  One I used pieces from the small 6X6 packs.

Was glued to the TV yesterday watching Hurricane Sandy.  Have family and friends that were in the middle of it all.   Hopefully their clean up won't be too overwhelming and life can get back to normal quickly.

Grandkids are getting excited for Halloween. There will be one transformer, if he can find his costume buried in his room.  And one little cowgirl.  They will be coming here for dinner and trick or treating in my neighborhood.

Visitor to the Backyard

With it being a little more wintery the last few days, there's been a few visitors to our backyard. Including this handsome fellow. He sure makes a lot of noise and has a friend that accompanies him at times. The squirrels are happy there is food out back once again. He is very elusive and doesn't stay in one place very long, making it hard to capture him.

Have kept a low profile this weekend trying to ditch this bug I have. Have stayed home from work not wanting to share. Managed to iron shirts and pants for Curtis, so he will have work clothes for this next week.
Praying Hurricane Sandy will not hit the east coast too severely. My sister and a few friends are battened down for the storm.

Halloween is Almost Here!

Frequently we have snow on the ground for Halloween. It's no different this year. This is what it looks like out my back door.

You need to be prepared to have a snowsuit under the Halloween costume!

My walls are decorated. I finally finished this Halloween wall hanging. I only needed to put the binding around the edges.

I ordered these wall decals from Zulilly, where Cait is employed. It is at the end of my kitchen wall

And I made a few cards to send out.

What's behind the pumpkin????

Down the Road to Yellowstone

A few days after I got home from my cruise, Curtis and I headed for a weekend to Yellowstone.  First visit I have made in the fall and it was totally worth it.  It was Columbus Day/Canadian Thanksgiving so he had an extra day off and we came home and cooked Thanksgiving dinner.
All the these shots were taken from the car as we rolled along.

We had had our first snow a few days before and it was a little frosty out.

End of Our Cruise!!

It was pretty sad to be over and have to come back to reality.  Missing my sister.  It's too bad we have to live so far apart and only get to connect about once a year.

Our last stop was Gaspe and then Quebec City.  We didn't get off the boat in Gaspe, as the tenders were taking so long to get people to shore and we didn't want to hassle with it all.  Plus, I wasn't feeling the greatest.  The trees were beautiful when we arrived in Quebec City.  We waited the whole trip to see the colour changed vegetation.

Almost Over

My travelogue of the east coast is almost done.
Today, I concentrate on PEI--Prince Edward Island.  How can one visit here and not think of Anne of Green Gables.  Not my sister or I.  But, first we got to do a little shopping in Charlottetown.  We walked up to town from the ship, which wasn't that far.  We picked up some lunch to eat.  We needed to do this as we had to be at the pier at 1200 for our tour.  This was a port where we had to tender in also.  We both loved this little island.

 The beach!

Yesterday, I was back to work for a few hours.  Not too many babies.
Last night wasn't a good night for sleeping.  Was up awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night.  Boo!!!!

One More Layout!!

Didn't get much accomplished today. But it was spent with my grandchildren and that is what matters.
We got them I for their flu shots!!!
I was able to take Harlee out for lunch just by herself since she has a couple extra days off school.
And then we all spent the afternoon at Nana's.

And then after they left, I went to the hospital and got my flu shot . Had to wait until I was feeling better.
Back to the grind tomorrow.

Join Suzanne's Challenge!

Recently, Suzanne of Snaps and Snippets, said she was ending her In Good Company challenge.   This is a challenge where she would pick a company and you would use their products to make a layout.  This time, you could use the company you chose.  Since this is the last challenge, I thought I better enter it.
So, without further ado, here is my layout:

Product used:  My Minds Eye paper from The Penny Lane collection.
                       Letters cut with my Quickutz
                       Butterfly - Jennie Bowlin
                       Stash buttons

Last night was the Employee recognition banquet for the Benefis Employees.  I was invited as it is 25 years I have worked there.  Crazy, right!!!!  I had to go up on the stage to accept my award- totally mortifying for me!!!!   But, it was a nice evening and a free dinner.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

It was pouring rain when the ship docked in Sydney, Nova Scotia.  It was still teaming down when we got on our tour bus to visit a Historic Celtic village.  We were on the bus for about an hour and when we arrived at the Highland Village.  I liked walking around this recreated village.  There was a lady here who was the twin to Curtis sister, Deyanne.  We were able to have a cup of tea and and oat cake here.  I plan to make some of these in the near future.  They reminded me of my mum's oatmeal cookies that she filled with date filling.
We were back to the ship by noon and they had quite a craft center as you got on and off the boat.  Lauree and I did quite a bit of shopping here for goodies to bring home.  We walked up into the town after some lunch and looked around.
I really liked the feel of Cape Breton Island and would go back here in a heart beat, despite the rain.
