What a fabulous week for my birthday to fall!
Last weekend, Curtis, Harlee and I headed out of town. We headed south. To Yellowstone National Park with the camera club folks. Curtis and Harlee are members. We are so fortunate to have 2 National Parks within driving range. Yellowstone is about a 4 hour drive for us. We made a short stop in Bozeman for some luch and were there shortly after. It was a beautiful day on Friday. Harlee sure didn't mind skipping school! Sometimes more important things can be learned out of school.
Lots of critters were out. They were taking over the roads as opposed to the tourists. Most of the Yellowstone roads are closed during the winter, but the northern road between Gardiner and Cooke City is open. Saturday morning was spent with the wolf research team. They are very active in March following the wolf activity through the park. They were parked waiting for a pack to come back to a fresh kill from the day before. They never did while we were there, but it was most educational for the kids that were with us.
We came back on Sunday. Followed by my birthday on Monday. Woke up in the middle of the night with a throbbing headache. These storm fronts moving through are killing me. I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my sister. And lots of flamingo stuff from my family. They know I love flamingos and there seems to be lots of flamingo items these days.
Tuesday, Kirsten and I headed back to Bozeman to hear Sir Elton John in concert. There was some retail therapy before hand. Kohl's seemed to have a plethera of kids clothes marked 70% off. Winter coats for the boys for next year were found.
Elton John played straight for 2-1/2 hours to a pretty packed house. Glad he likes to come to Montana to perform. And I was able to check one item off on my bucket list. I have always wanted to hear him perform. We had awesome seats- Row 19, on the floor. Obviously one could see him very clearly.
We cane home Wed. And managed to beat the predicted storm. And yesterday I was at work renewing my BLS and now current for another 2 years! Next on the agenda is getting my passport renewed. I see a pn upcoming trip to Lethbridge.
